Can someone please tell me what qualifies for retro. Are the original Max Payne, Halo & Shenmue games retro? If so then yes I play retro games. Twitch doesn't consider those games retro, more like the SNES or PS1 eras etc. I mostly play on the 360. I use it way more than my Xbox One as I still have a huge backlog on it.

The game Destiny. I have a group of friends I've been gaming with for years and we all play 4 player coop games like Left 4 Dead 2 & Gears of War 3. The next game on our list was Destiny and while they seemed to enjoy it I just found no fun in it, but to keep our sessions going I just pretended and acted as if I liked it as well. It wasn't really me caving in to peer pressure or trying to fit in, I just didn't want to hurt their feelings.
I've never put a lot of stock in what reviewers say, but Grand Theft Auto 4 is when I started believing that developers bribe reviewers. There is no way in hell that game could receive all of the perfect scores that it received from professional reviewers unless they were bribed. It's the highest rated GTA game ever based upon professional review scores, yet most gamers consider it to be by far the worst 3D game in the series.
You're right about the bribing. Not saying it's a bad game but Metal Gear Solid V also comes to mind. It scored so many perfect 10s.
My choice is Rival Turf by Jaleco on the SNES. I used to read video game magazines for reviews back then and they totally slaughtered Rival Turf with scores like 4/10 for being crap and also being a Final Fight clone. But when I played it with my brother, it was so much fun we played for hours. It was my brother's friend's game, but after playing it, we ended up buying our own copy. I was really young, so looking back, maybe I didn't know the factors that made a game good or bad, but since then, I stopped paying so much attention to game review scores. Sure I still read the reviews but if a game looked fun, its review score was irrelevant.
What about you? What was the first game you played that made you not trust game reviewers? It could be a game that got poor reviews, and when you played it, you found it to be very good. Or it could be a game that got great reviews, and when you played it, you found it to be boring and not so good.
I remember playing the original Driver game on the PS1. It was very unique to me at the time and I enjoyed my time with it but I didn't spend a lot of time with it and have forgotten 100% what the gameplay was like. I also played some of Driver: Parallel Lines on the Xbox. The little I played was okay. Now I'm seriously considering buying Driver 3, Driver: Parallel Lines and Driver: San Fransico because for some reason I'm interested in revisiting the series.
As I never played these games past the halfway point, I'm interested in the opinions of those who have played any of the games. What did you think of it? Are they any good? Is the concept like GTA?
No I haven't but I'm seriously considering the Batman Arkham series as I haven't play any of them before.
I loved F-Zero on the snes. Everything about that game was classic. Sadly the one on the N64 didn't really impress me. I voted F-Zero as I've never played Diddy Kong Racing.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
I had so much fun with this game's multiplayer. Shame there aren't any players playing it anymore.
