Hey, it's Australia's Avril Lavigne! (yes, that is a compliment since I find you both extremely cute/cool!)

I understand he may have left GameSpot under less than stellar terms but to not give him a proper obituary, and to simply repost Giant Bomb's announcement is really weak on GS's part. He deserved much more than that; even competitor web-sites have written and said more.

I am disgusted.

I know GameSpot doesn't like sports games (heck, they laid off their sports guy last year) but this review feels so rushed. No talk about Ultimate Team, no discussion on the "option" other than one sentence. Heck, not even a single mention of the new halftime presentation. What about the new coordinator camera angle?

I would rather they send their sports games off to a freelancer to review than to give it to Tom who doesn't seem to even play sports games on a regular basis. I don't expect him to ever review a fighting game, so give this to a regular sports gamer to handle.

It's kind of interesting that GameSpot returned to a daily news program after giving Fuse the boot back in 2011/12. Jess seems like quite a "bubbly" person but I do hope they don't rely too heavily on "eye-candy" and get all GS Staff members involved. If they use her and try to copy IGN's DailyFix or Polygon's Speed Run, then I'll be disappointed. GS used to break the ground with video programming, I don't want them to be the copy cats.

Funny how this video has 62,000 views, the YouTube version has over 108,000 views but yet this site doesn't care about sports games.

Also, for all you below complaining about the 'ball not making direct contact' or 'glitches' this is a pre-alpha demo...stop being jerks for the sake of being a jerk.

Game development costs are getting out of hand. I'm pretty certain that if these games cost the company 10-15 million dollars less, we wouldn't be considering 3.4 million as a failure. This really needs to change!

I wish there was more consistency with GameSpot's reviews. Mc Shea reviews Madden NFL, complains they don't do enough new, it gets a 7.5. This has the exact same complaint, gets an 8.5.

I'm not knocking this game, it's a clear improvement over last year's 7.5 but if the complaints are similar to other games of the genre, there should be some commonality between reviews.

Wow, GameSpot being a tad sympathetic by giving this game a 5.0. The game is last year's game and they only give it a 5. A "5" is the middle score, this should have gotten a 3 or 4. But I guess when it's a freelance review, the consistency is thrown out the window.

I have to agree with a lot of the negative sentiment. The purpose that reality programs exist is because the characters, good or bad, have personality and give you a reason to talk about them. These guys lack basic social skills. Fine, they may be really good eSport Gamers (can't use the term athlete here) but when it comes to how they talk, interact and even live, it's pretty depressing. I find it hard to believe they'd buy a pet when they sleep on beds without proper bedding. I know dorm students who live better these guys.

I know GameSpot has been trying hard to push the eSport scene to the masses, but this just doesn't work. Hopefully this is the first and only time they decide to chronicle the personal lives of Pro Gamers.

On the other hand, if this was a one-off Reality Documentary that followed Pro Gamers on the day of a tournament, simply focusing on the training and mental anguish they go through, without us watching them ride around in GoKarts and buying a pet they can't take care of, that I would watch.
