Games like Crysis show just how illogical PC gaming is. Having to upgrade a PC just to run one game is absurd. That's the problem with having non-standardized hardware. When graphics cards are coming out every couple of months, you are always behind with PC hardware, and if a good game comes out in a year, and you can't run it, well then you're just out of luck, or you have to spend an exorbitant amount of money just to be able to play it. Actually if you upgrade to a decent mid priced GPU, it will generally will allow you to play new games for about 4 years or more. It's relatively the same as buying a console, except a mid-priced GPU is cheaper. You don't have to play every game on the Highest Settings to enjoy it, I just ordered a x1650xt for $130 to tide me over until I totally upgrade to a DX10 card next year. With that card I will be able to play every game on the market today and even games like Crysis at a pretty decent quality level, and do so with dual monitors (isn't that something that the PS3 promised but didn't deliver?). And that's not even a mid priced card, it's more of a budget card.
It's no where close to buying a console. PC gaming is MUCH more expensive than console gaming. You can try to spin it as much as you want to, but that's the fact.
How much is a HDTV?
You don't have to have an HDTV to play consoles. And anyways, HDTVs are becoming pretty standard these days. In stores like Walmart, you can find HDTVs that are relatively inexpensive.

Woooow reallly? I didn't know that being one of the first shooters to implement more than three genres in one seamlessly and provide different modes of play made you generic. I've been enlightened here tonight.
A FPS is still a FPS. It might be a better looking FPS, but it's still an FPS. And FPS games in general tend to be shallow.
