Hi,

I was just wondering if it would be possible to add 8gb of Ram (2 x 4gb sticks) to my current PC which has 4gb of ram (2 x 2gb sticks). I heard there are issues in putting together different brands of Ram with different latencies, frequencies, etc.

My current motherboard:

My current Ram:

I was planning to buy this Ram to add to my computer

or this one

If not then, what are your recommendations?

Thanks for your help!

Hey guys, soooo GameFly just shipped my copy of Deus Ex today and I was planning to "Keep" it for about $44. That plus my $10 coupon (expires today) would make the game only worth $34. The game is the Ps3 version and I was thinking if the PC version is worth paying more. I looked at Amazon and a new PC copy is $49.99. Are there any major differences between the two copies that would make the PC version worth buying over the PS3 version?

Thanks!

I finally put my first build together and it turns on, but I plugged it into my monitor and nothing will show. Should I plug directly from the GPU to my monitor or from the motherboard first. The problem with the motherboard it seems is that it doesn't have an output to the monitor. Or it does and I just don't know it is.

Thanks! :)

I was gonna order all of them today.

Also, about Windows 7. I heard around the internet that the OEM version doesn't get any support from Microsoft. Is that true?

Yep, I'm a noob at this. So are the parts I picked out fine? I have a budget of around $800. Also, are there any other GPUs that give me more bang for my buck?

DVD Drive

Case

Hard drive

Motherboard

GPU

PSU

RAM

CPU

OS

Thanks!

Strange. At which point does your PC stop?

Also:

Have you tried using different USB ports?

Have you tried booting with different storage devices (a usb stick for example)?

In your BIOS, is there an option to completely disable USB boot? If so try that.

Tezcatlipoca666

It stops right after the loading screen for Windows XP. I have tried switching the USBs with the same result. Also, I read online that disabling the USB boot altogether might also disable all my other USB devices (mouse and keyboard). So I'm reluctant to do that. But I might try it if all else fails.
