@Ovirew: I'd also love different starter types. I think I'd love a Ghost starter, even if it's just a hybrid at this point. Ghost has a ton of great designs in general (although being a horror fan I'm biased).

I was thinking about picking up Ultra Moon when it's released since I skipped S/M. I enjoyed gen 6 a lot, despite its limited post game.

Yep, Gold and Silver are some of the greatest sequels ever (in that they meaningfully expand on the foundation laid by the first game) and their remakes are probably my favorite in the series. As a kid, I went with Chikorita for my starter, but when I played the remakes, I went with Cyndaquil. It's easily one of the most underrated starters in the series. Simple but adorable/ fierce design and lots of fun to use in battle. Heads up, I'm not a competitive Pokemon player, so I just go with who I like. It's part of the reason I put way more hours into earlier games than the more recent ones (that and I just don't have the time anymore).

@Ovirew: If all you want from a game is classic Metroid, SR definitely hits the spot. It was just for me personally, it lacked some of the elements of other games that elevated them to greatness (environment variety and freedom of exploration in Super, the unique atmosphere and enemies of Fusion). It's clear they wanted to play it safe since it's been over a decade since the last traditional Metroid came out.

As far as Awakening goes, it's a wonderful game. Top notch gameplay, presentation, and fun characters (plot is eh but everything else makes up for it).

@Ovirew: I've also got something going on about working in a customer service environment, except it's going to turn into somethinglike The Raid: redemption meets Robocop as written by Tarantino.

@Ovirew: As someone who works full time at a customer service job, believe me when I say I fully understand the frustration of the bone headed decisions upper management makes. I can't tell you the amount of times I've shaken my head at the amount of stupid crap they've had us do that made us fell behind. It's unfortunately a part of just about any job.

Can I make a suggestion? Write your frustrations out. It won't make them go away, but whether it's a story about your frustrations, or even just a journal venting about it, writing can be amazingly therapeutic. It WILL make you feel better, even if it doesn't necessarily do anything practical to actually change the situation. It's a reason so many great writers are messed up people. They have personal demons that they pour onto the page and that raw kind of writing is what makes it work.

There's no shame in moving back home. Sounds like it's a perfect storm of situations and it'd be best to get away from it all.

@johno357: A good portion of the time I find indie games to be more enjoyable than major market releases. They often bring new and fun ideas to the table, or bring back old ones and twist them into something that feels fresh.

There's no way an imitation account can get you blocked. Report this user and it should be dealt with

Only beaten Abyss and started Vespiria, so I'm a surefire Tales of greenhorn at best. Always enjoy reading your lists about the series, though.
