So, I bought Just Cause 2 from steam during the holiday sale, mainly because of the recently released multiplayer mod, but then I discovered that there was a mod for the singleplayer called BOLOpatch. It basically enables you to tether multiple objects together and adds an unbreakable rope for the grapple.

Now, my problem is that I can't get it to work anymore. It worked fine yesterday, but now it just refuses to launch and gives me this error message about a "player block not found". Is there any possible fix for this, config editing or perhaps an alternative mod that basically does the same thing? I can't go back to the regular flimsy tether because it just doesn't offer the same level of wackiness due to it being so ridiculously weak.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated!

How rough is it? I'd really like to purchase it but I've never been too keen on spending money towards unfinished products. I'd love to make an exception to that rule and poney up the dough since DayZ seems to be that kind of game that I could spend countless of hours on. I'm just worried that after I've bought the damn game it turns out to be an unplayable buggy mess that runs like shit and is infested by griefers that have nothing better to do but to shoot you without hesitation. Should I go for it or wait a year and pick it up when it's closer to release and possibly a more coherent and polished game?

I don't understand why this is an issue for you, why restrict us to easy, med, or hard modes when we can fine tune the difficulty and realism? Would you rather they force their hard mode on you or make your own hard mode tailored to your desire? Hardly complicated.

It is complicated because you have to choose a difficulty, working out what that difficulty is about, then customise it and then customise the UI.

No one would be forcing a hard mode. You'd choose Easy, Normal, Hard or Expert. The easiest one has all the UI crap on and the others have it off by default.

That's so much simpler. This might not be complicated for you or me, but think about some of the middle ground people.

They might want a challenge but don't necessarily come onto message boards to have it explained to them beforehand.

You're making it sound more complicated than what it really is. The difficulties and customizable options will have detailed descriptions explaining how each of them affect gameplay, so if you don't have reading comprehension issues or ADD, it shouldn't be that hard to read through them and tweak them accordingly. Now, what you're suggesting wouldn't give me the freedom to choose a more challenging difficulty mode but still have the option of keeping some of the assists on, like for example health, ammo, focus and mini-map. Pretty damn simple, no?

Dang it! I've been waiting for this for a long time but I'm too enamoured by PoE at the moment that I couldn't give two shits about anything right now. Luckily for me it's Early Access so I'm in no rush. I'd rather wait for the proper release when all content has been included and most of the bugs and issues fixed.

Definitely need this when it releases though, looks very nice.

The game is ridiculously fun and addictive. Started playing for the first time on Monday and initially I had the intention on playing with a "test" character that was supposed to be temporary, just so I could familiarize myself with the mechanics and such....A week later and I'm still playing with that "test" character that just hit level 18 last night on Nemesis League. That's how addictive it is. "Just one more level, just one more quest", is what's going through my head everytime I realize that it's time to call it a night after spending almost the entire day with my eyes glued to the monitor.

Half-Life 3, no contest. Valve hasn't made a single crappy game to date and I believe they never will. Even though it feels like it's going to take forever for Valve to release it but when they do, it will definitely be worth it.

Looks like it was a colossal success....
