@PayneKiller: True, though the battery life is a lot more impressive in the Switch Pro Controller as opposed to the Dual Shock 4. Might be worth it for the extra $10 alone to get 10 times the amount of battery life. Also the HD Rumble might turn out to be a pretty awesome feature, though we'll have to see about that over time.

@Thanatos2k:No. Wii was in the same generation as the one before it power wise. Same for Wii U. The Switch will be the same. All of them will be at the "upper end" of the previous gen in terms of power.

@Thanatos2k: They've been underpowered for 2 gens in a row. There's no big change here for Nintendo console gamers, since you can still play it on the TV.

@eamo-k: Even though they say "console", you need to think of it in terms of a handheld, because that's what it really is. And it's a pretty beefy handheld.

Maybe Naughty Dog will know for next time not to release a teaser. They're lucky no one noticed, because that reveal was really good and caught a lot of people off guard. A great surprise. And if people picked up on that teaser, the surprise would've been ruined.

@spaced92: Exactly, those examples you gave had the developers blessings. That's fine, go ahead and make the tribute. But if you don't have it, why do it? They don't want your tribute, and so you shouldn't make it, since you're not making the people you're fans of happy. To me, it's like "hey I love you so much, I'm going to do a thing you don't want me to do". But really, what people are doing is "hey I love your creation so much, and I don't care about you, and I'm gonna use it without your blessings". That's just clearly wrong. You should always ask the creators first.

Drawing pictures and whatnot for fan art is fine, but making complete games is not okay. It can potentially devalue your property, where people will choose "free" versions over your own creations (e.g Pokemon Uranium). Sure this may not have happened to great effect, but it's a slippery slope, and companies are enforcing copyright so that's why we don't see it happen.

Furthermore, and this is the biggest reason, if you don't enforce copyright, you can actually lose the rights to your IP. And so it'd be completely stupid if you didn't enforce copyright.

I don't get fan games sometimes. You don't have the blessings of the developer, and you have the skill to make a game. So go make your own game. The developers don't want your "love letter" (or whatever you want to call it) so don't do it.
