I've seen this more and more recently, that the latest games in a series gets a really good review, depsite being awful by the series' standard. I first started to think about this when I heard a lot of people praise Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. After hearing what a good game it was, I just had to pick it up (got it on Steam), I've been a fan of the series since the first game, so it was a give that I had to try the newest one out. I played for maybe two hours before realizing that I really didn't like the game. It's nothing like the Ghost Recon I remember playing. So with that said, I think you really should play at least one of the earlier games in a series before judging the newest one.

I know some people may say that it's unfair, but my point is, if it named "Ghost Recon" it should play like a Ghost Recon game, if not, it should be called something else.

Tom Jones, he played in an amusement park in Stockholm yesterday, and my mom's a big fan, so I just tagged along. Not personally a big fan, but he's not bad.

Sure, I don't see why not. I definitely don't think that your skin color should be a free pass to treat other people badly.

@jasean79: Not bad at all, 4/5.

Here's a foreign one, Swedish to be precise.

Try talking to people online, like in online games and such, it's easy to meet a lot of people that way, and maybe you'll even meet a girl.

I guess I've been lucky in that regard, I've only ever had two girlfriends, but they were both avid gamers. The first got me into F.E.A.R. and Dead Space, and the second got me into online gaming.

That's a hard one. Gonna go with either Faith from Mirror's Edge or Mitsurugi from Soul Blade.

1. Mirror's Edge. I remember being über-hyped for that game, I was looking forward so much to a game that wasn't your standard FPS, and I was definitely not disappointed.

2. Star Wars: Battlefront 2. I played it quite a lot when I went to middle school, it was so cool to just play an all-out war in the Star Wars universe.

3. Samurai Shodown V. I played this a lot with a friend in middle school. We spend hours upon hours on this game, and he beat me every time. He was a beast at fighting games. I believe we had the "Special" version of the game. Sadly, the copy of the game that we had (and the whole console, actually) are long gone.

4. Rock Band 3. So many music games I played when they were popular, but this one is my pick, I still play it daily. These music games eventually got me to buy a real electric guitar, a decision I definitely don't regret.

5. Battlefield 2. This was a hard one to pick, because all the Battlefield games are really good. But you can't beat the amazing VoIP between the squad members, the tactical elements to the game, and the ability to just have fun with friends and family over a local network. Gets bonus points for computer controlled opponents on LAN.

6. F.E.A.R. Oh, man. All the memories. I must have beat the original game about 5 times now, and I still love it. My girlfriend I had in high school got me into horror games, and we played a lot of F.E.A.R. and Dead Space together. Also, Alma is one of my all-time favorite antagonists.

7. Far Cry 3. Open world, tons of different guns, Vaas, gorgeous graphics, improved stealth over the previous entries, Vaas, tons of content... need I say more? Also, did I mention Vaas?

8. Final Fantasy VII. I remember everyone talking about this game when I was a kid, but I never got into it because I thought it was too hard at the time. I actually finished it for the first time about a month or so ago... yeah, I'm a little slow. Still, I really liked it. The graphics are *really* dated, and the game hasn't aged well, but it's still one of the best games I've played with it's awesome music and character customization.

9. Pokémon Crystal. This was my first Pokémon game, and I instantly fell in love with the series. Having full control over how you want to set up your party of monsters along with the really cozy close to home feeling that the games have just made it so good. While games like Final Fantasy and Fallout are like embarking on a grand adventure, the Pokémon games feel more like exploring the neighborhood. These are games I can pick up and play anytime, and they always feel fresh to me.

10. Soul Blade. I never really was a fan of fighting games (aside from the previously mentioned Samurai Shodown), but this was one of my favorite PS1 games. I spent hours trying to practise so I could beat my sister, and in the end she still managed to push my character out of the ring. I also love the song in the opening cinematic.

That's my personal list. Though it was more of a collection of my favorite gaming memories.

Definitely not. I still play games on SNES, Neo-Geo and N64 frequently, to name a few. It's better to make sure you experience everything a system has to offer, than to leave it behind just to be first with the newest systems. The only downside would be the community, there's no one to talk to about your favorite old games or stuff like that. But if you have friends that also play older games, that's less of a problem.

If it counts as a FPS, then Mirror's Edge. Otherwise, I'd say either Battlefield 2 or Far Cry 3. Though I sure did play my fair share of Counter-Strike back in the days.

I played a shoot em' up a long time ago, probably in the early 2000's. I got a demo of it for free with a box of cereal. It was a traditional 2D spaceship shmup for the PC. You could pick one of several characters to play as, and before each mission there was a hangar where you could buy upgrades like armor and additional weapons, as well as choose which mission to play. Most of the stages took place on earth or some planet similar to earth. That's about all I can remember.
