Well, usually when you have something that the competition doesn't or substantial enough, you fund the tools, guides, examples, demos around it like e.g. Nvidia with RTX, DLSS etc etc. Haven't seen anything from MS because they literally depend on Epic/UE for all their dev needs. I have been saying it for a long time, how baffling it is that MS doesn't have an inhouse engine.

Hell, it's the height of incompetence that they can't even lobby Epic to incorporate this tech in UE or make it easy for other devs to utilize those by creating a plugin for it at least.

I have no doubt that money is the reason why the devs don't bother it for now because they don't have any incentive to do that but that's on MS.

But MS invented DX....🤷‍♂️

Don't know about that but nothing comes remotely close to Kutaragi and teh Cell. The greatest overhyped failure in the recent history. What's even funny is the cows and Sony hyping/defending it long after Sony buried it for good. The same can't be said of any other failure.

So what CPU in 2006 could run GPU task like cell?🤷‍♀️

Without Xbox, I imagine Bungie would have continued languishing in obscurity making games for MacOS, at least until Apple decided to basically abandon the MacOS gaming market.

No.

In fact Halo was on the making for Mac and PS2 when MS bought Bungie.

@Pedro: but it was bungie that put Xbox on the map. I'm saying this to a Xbox fan that is calling bungie a one hit wonder company. I get Xbox funded it.

Bungie is not a one hit wonder of a company.

AND it was Xbox who put Bungie on the map. The success of both entities were mutual and interconnected. Bungie is known for two games series.

Halo was coming regardless of MS buying bungie or not, in fact it was slated to be on Mac and PS2 i remember well, how good or bad it would have been who knows, but it was coming.

Now 343 isn't bungie and it has been mighty obvious, the highest point of the series was when Bungie was making it, in the same way it happen with Gears of war and Epic.

Bungie was bought to make more money period you should know that.

FTC review is normal. That Is what they are there for. Non-issue.

/Thread

Is normal but that doesn't mean is a non issue, specially when it comes to MS.

This isn't you average purchase this is a huge buy that could result in MS calling all the shots in more than 1 way, from hurting the free competition to increase prices for the consumers, monopolies are never good.

I think it will pass but is not a sure thing.

In fact AT&T try to buy Tmobile back in 2011 and the Antitrus division of the department of justice filed a lawsuit, that forced AT&T to stop the bid to buy them, that was for 39 billions, this deal is for 70 billions one is close to double that of AT&T.

So you can expect that there will be some resistance, i don't see sony opposing the deal, but if the do and nintendo as well do they may halt it.

But how i seeing things, i think gamepass will be everywhere from xbox to PS to switch or what ever come next from nintendo as well as TV and set up boxes.

Q. Bungie has future games in development, will they now become PlayStation exclusives? No. We want the worlds we are creating to extend to anywhere people play games. We will continue to be self-published, creatively independent, and we will continue to drive one, unified Bungie community.

This doesn't make any sense. Why on earth would Sony spend nearly 4 billion on a dev and still have them make games on the competition's platform?

To make more money on multiple platforms than on just 1.🤷‍♂️

How the f**k is Bungie worth 3.6 billion? What do they have apart from Destiny?

Apart from making the highest rated halo chapters nothing really.
