Somewhat cheesy GW commercial. :)

GPAddict

Correction: a VERY cheesy GW commercial.

I liked the bonus missions by the way. And especially the rewards! That's some great looking gear.

Cheers,

T.

The Thief series is an incredible experience if you're into stealth gameplay. However, these games are about stealing stuff, not assassinating people. If you're playing on the higher difficulty settings, the mission objectives will even forbid you to kill anyone. You have to club or gas guards, hide their K.O.'ed bodies from sight, and remain undetected as much as possible. It might sound dull to some, but to me it's actually much more exciting than rambo'ing your way through a mission (which, btw, is pretty much impossible in Thief).

The first two games are very outdated by now graphics-wise, but the sound is still unbelievable (especially the guards' conversations); the third one (Deadly Shadows) is really good but some concessions were made as it was developed for consoles and pc's at the same time; most notably smaller outdoor levels. The core gameplay remained entirely intact however, and became even better thanks to the awesome dynamic shadows.

Cheers,

T.

P.S. Oh and just so you know: the guy who designed the Dark Brotherhood quest line for Oblivion, Emile Pagliarulo, was a designer on the Thief series as well. So I'm pretty confident you'll like Thief.

I'm going to build a new gaming PC shortly and decided to set up a dual boot Vista/XP. But I just wondered which version of Vista I should get? 32-bit or 64-bit?

I suppose the 64-bit version would perform better, allow me to use more RAM (?), etc.. , but what about compatibility with games?

All comments are welcome.

BTW the system I'm going to build:

Actually, in King's Quest IV the hero is a girl, but that's not the game you're looking for.

The cheese and the sheep do ring a bell for me, but I think it was a freeware game; not as old as you're saying, so...

Sorry can't help you.

Cheers,

So I have a Hero's Handbook [HARD MODE] now...

Anyone else experience this? Does this mean I have to beat all the quests in Hard Mode to count?

GPAddict

Hehe it looks like it ;)

Good luck ! You'll need it

Definitely Mafia.

Of all the games you mentioned, I've only ever played GTA3, but I can tell you that Mafia is way better than that game. Better graphics, better missions, better shooting action, better story. Just my opinion of course.

[QUOTE="MattUD1"]According to the Wiki, degens should be effective since the Griffon has no natural regen rate.MattUD1

LOL

Yes I can read. :)

I tried going as a mesmer secondary and using lots of Illusion magic, but the problem is that he keeps chasing me down and leaving spirits everywhere. If it was just him it wouldn't be so bad, but those stupid spirits make it very difficult.

How fast does he/she/it set up the spirits? Can't you interrupt them?

I found a nice way to get rid of the spirits is to switch to Spiritualist as secondary and take Consume Soul (Elite skill). This way, you can kill his spirits faster than he can spam them, heal yourself in the process and deplete the Griffon's energy pool.

Cheers,

T.
