I think the reason the WiiU isn't too popular right now with the hardcore crowd is because of how weak the Wii is compared to the ps3, 360, and a gaming PC. With those 3 you have the major AAA titles, online play, friends lists, achievements, and good graphics. If you own either just a ps3, 360, or PC you could play most of the games that have come out this gen, easily play online with friends, and earn achievements. The wii was my first console of this gen and I can say playing any 3rd party game on the wii was boring. Examples are Ultimate Alliance with had little motion controls and just button mashing with a wii mote is not fun at all. The force unleashed 1 was fun at first with swinging the wii mote to move the lighsaber but got old real fast. I think if Nintendo starts showing off that the wiiu can compete with the next xbox and ps more people will take it seriously and not see the wii u as the next gen console for shovel ware.
I wish I was smart enough to build a gaming pc. I have put off getting battlefield 3 for ps3 to wait until I can afford to buy a gaming desk top. Judging by how a lot of you are saying he spent too much and telling him what he should have used I now know what parts to get in my gaming pc when I buy it. This article was useful in more ways than 1 lol :)
As a PC gamer I love using steam because I have all my games in my place. I do buy some guys retail though such as blizzard games, bioware games, and mmorpgs. I try to buy a little of both retail and digital, just like with books I buy novels on my kindle and comics in print. Having the game boxes do look nice but with the amount of games I have that is a lot of shelf space, my shelves are already getting super full from all the marvel/dc and manga graphic novels. I would hate to see actual retail hard copies go away mainly because I would hate for all those people to loose their jobs and sometimes you just need a pshycial copy for whatever reasons. I hope in the future that there is an even divide of people buying retail and digital.
Why can't people accept that M rated games are not for children and there for it shouldn't matter if there is sex in them. Why should we have to suffer because of ignorant parents? Take that grandmother who bough San Andreas for her 12 year old grandchild. Rockstar shouldn't have had to pay her. She should have had the child taken away from her and been put in jail. If your going to buy a child an M rated game then don't get mad when they see adult things in it.
