Games and Camping

Hey everyone. Ok, first of all, if you're wondering why I'm blogging, it's because the campground I'm at is so boring that all I can do all day is play on the computer and watch old episodes of Friends on DVD. At least Friends is funny, and I have places to go on the Internet. Still, staying inside on the computer isn't in the spirit of camping. It's not my fault, though, since this campground completely sucks. It's the ugliest, most boring campground I've ever been. It's a dirty stink hole full of hate and neglect.

I got The Sims 2 Pets for the DS and it's really only ok at best. It's the same thing over and over again; you get a pet, check it, give it medicine then wait for a few days for the owner to pick it up. It's not fun after the 50th time, and you never get a break, so you can't play with your pet or go to the park. It's always work, work, work. It's not bad, it's just not great. The graphics look ok, but everyone is extremely ugly and they all look the same. So far, I'm not loving the game, but I'm certainly not hating it. 6.5/10 so far.

News + More News

Hello everybody. I've got a few subjects today. My first subject is why the PS3 is not mworth $600, or however much it costed you. Ok, so I have been playing Resistance: Fall of Man with my sister, and we were going to play it tonight, because we're at the final part of the final level on the hard difficulty. Well, the controllers aren't working. Mine has a flashing light, but doesn't do anything. My sisters doesn't have any light at all. We attempted to charge them, both with USB cords and with the charger, but they won't charge. I normally wouldn't be so mad about this, but this isn't the first time this has happened to me. I understand the the PS3 has great graphics capabilitys, but that's really all that makes it worth $600. And if you think about it, the 360 has the same graphics capability, and costs less. It's extremely frusturating to have this problem when you're at the very last part of the very last level, and you need to complete the level tonight, or you'll have to wait another 2 weeks before you can play it again!!! (I'll explain in a second) Ok, so basically, what I'm saying is, the PS3 is fun and all, but for $600, it shouldn't cause me so many problems.

Ok, about that whole "Can't play again for 2 weeks" thing. Tomorrow, we're going up to Georgia, to visit Stone Mountain. We'll also be going up to Orlando to go to Universal and some water parks. We're taking our RV and will be gone for about 2 weeks. This means that I most likely won't be blogging for a while. It should be kinda fun, since we're going to like 5 different water parks, but I'm afraid of heights and all that crap, so it's going to be harder for me to enjoy it. I'm sure I'll enjoy it anyway, but not as much as my brother and sister will, since they're into that kinda of stuff. Anyway, after this blog, don't expect a blog/review for a while.

Also, since my sister and I have been playing Resistance, I'll review it soon. I'm not going to tell you my score, but I'll give you a hint: it's pretty high. Alright everyone, peace. Thanks for reading.

Dark Sector/Iron Man/Echochrome Demo Impressions + Portal Flash

Ok, so when I went onto the PlayStation Store yesterday, there were 3 new demos. I, of course, downloaded them, and by the time we finished watching Iron Man and got back home, all 3 of them were downloaded. I think the first thing I wanna do with this blog is tell you more about what I thought of Iron Man. The movie started out with Tony Stark (Iron Man) in a hummer, along with a group of soldiers. This has to be one of the best parts in the whole movie. I literally couldn't stop myself from laughing. I won't tell you what happened, but if you saw the movie then I'll assume you know what I'm talking about. This movie had over-the-top action. Even if it didn't involve Iron Man, there's still tons of explosions. So, I'd just like to say that I absolutely loved Iron Man. It's the best superhero movie since... um... well... I think I'm going to review it on MovieTome.

Ok, now about those demos. I'll start off with Dark Sector. I like this game. The controls are easy to learn, the combat is loads of fun and it does a good job of creeping me out. It's also not so bloody and gory and cussy that it's hard to enjoy. The demo puts you in a cave, where you'll mostly be running around, but once you get out, you'll encounter two creatures eating a guy. These two creatures are pretty easy to kill. Once you've wasted them, you'll be outside, where you must turn left. Now I'm in a huge gunfight with a bunch of... I dunno... agents, are they? You see, I wouldn't know because the demo doesn't go far enough into the story for it to make sense. Anyway, back to the game. Now I can pick up shotguns and rifles, but when I walk to the gate that I'm supposed to open, there's a huge flash, and my weapons are gone. Oh well, my Glaive and pistol will be just fine for the rest of the demo. Once I'm in here, I jump behind cover, and I'm shooting the crap out of some more guys, and once they're dead, I'm stuck wandering round a little area, where I soon realise what I'm supposed to do; open the gate in the ground. Now I'm in a little area where two creatures break in through the glass windows and are shooting at me. I kill them both then head over to the black market to upgrade my weapon with something that I found earlier and somehow forgot to tell you about. I also increase the speed of my gun; now it's basically an uzi. Now I'm fighting off tons of creatures in thise area outside of where I just was. This went on for about 10 minutes, because I died twice. Once I finally do that, I'm at a boss. I still haven't defeated the boss, but I can tell you this; it's not easy. Ok, so what is the verdict? WEll, I'd say that from what I've played, Dark Sector is an extremely enjoyable game, and I'll most likely rent it some time. I'm going to say, so far, an 8/10.

Ok, now for Iron Man! Nice main menu. I choose to start the game on normal difficulty, because I'm not a pathetic wimp. I've got a few million bucks to spend on upgrades, and I go for a new platebody upgrade. Now I'm outta cash. I sit here wondering what to do next for about 5 minutes, until I realise there's a start mission option. Ok, so there's a sort little cutscene here. The voice-acting seems OK. Now it begins, and I'm flying. I get on the ground, and now I'm running around blowing up tanks and weapons. It's pretty fun, and the controls are pretty nice, however I have one problem; the actual flight. The controls are somewhat hard to get used to. I don't know why. It might be because you're so close up to Iron Man when flying. Basically the game is making me run around the desert, blowing up my weapons, and killing some bad guys. It's not bad, just a little bit repetetive. I've got a few attacks to use; I can blast with my hands, or I can charge my attacks, which is more effective. I also have the ability to hover, which is helpful when I'm just trying to go over a rock or something. I can also dodge. I never actually had to do this, but I can imagine it will be helpful in the actual game. So, what did I think of the demo? As a demo, I'm going to say it was lame. It was very short and didn't allow me to use a lot of my abilitys. As a game, I'm going to say it's pretty cool. The controls are easy, except fr flight, and the world was pretty large. I'll say, based on the demo, a 7/10.

Now for Echochrome. I thought this game was pretty good as well. It has some clever puzzles to solve, but the music is annoying, and it requires a lot of patience. The tutorial is annoying, because you have to listen to some women talking about the 5 mysteries, then it'll show you a video of what to do, THEN you do it. The character also moves incredibly slow, meaning that if you don't have much patience, you shouldn't even bother trying this game. I think it's OK, it just isn't as good as I hoped. I'm going to say, judging by what I played, 6/10. It didn't live up to my expectations, and I most likely won't buy the full game.

Ok, now onto Portal Flash. I've known about this game for a while, but never cared to play it. I think it's actually a lot better than the real game. The graphic style is great, and the puzzles are clever. The controls are easy, as well. Another thing that I like is that you're not playing as that stoned hooker from the original game. This game isn't nearly as funny as the original, but humor isn't what makes a great game. You can find this game on NewGrounds by searching "Portal Flash" on either Google or NewGrounds itself. I'm going to say that Portal Flash is one of the best flash games ever made, and it's, without a doubt, worth playing. I'd rate the game an 8.5/10. This is really great. Once you're done reading this blog, go Google "Portal Flash". You'll see what I mean. That's all for today.

Iron Man

I just got back from Iron Man. This has to be the best superhero movie every created. It's funny, too. That's basically it. Yeah, I know, short blog.

How was my Friday?

Well, my Friday was alright. My dad needed help moving stuff from his office to the eloctronic recycling facility or something like that, so my brother and I were helping him half the day. Other than that, nothing interesting really happened. I started playing Portal again, and I'm at level... I think... 16? Anyway, I'm starting to like it more, but the puzzles are frusturating. I might write my review soon, or I might wait until I beat the other games then just write a review for The Orange Box. It's not gonna be fun, though, because I hate Half Life. A lot. I tryed playing Crysis on my new Vista, and it can barely run it on low. It moves really slow, making combat very frusturating. It was frusturating enough anyway... Well, that's about all I can think of that happened...

Iron Man also came out yesterday, and I'm going to go see it this weekend. Yay me! Basically, yesterday was boring, because that's all I have to say. Yup. Anyway, good day to you. Oh, and happy birthday to FlameBandicoot. :P

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii Review

Well, I've finally written a review for. I think the game is an excellent, but the multiplayer is somewhat boring. The graphics and sound are both amazing, the character roster is huge, there's tons of unlockable content, the controls are completely customizable, and it's got Toon Link! If you don't have a Wii, Brawl is a good reason to get one. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is an amazing game. You simply can't miss it.

More junk!

So... hey. Ok, so I just though I'd post a few things that have happened recently. For starters, I've been playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune more. I'm attempting to find more treasures. I've found about 4 - 5 new treasures, which is a reasonably good amount. Afterall, every treasure counts. Since I'm doing more now than I had before, I'll probably re-write my review for it. This time I'll probably go deeper into the game than I previously did. Look forward to that sometime this month. I also think I've played a good amount of Brawl, and I'll most likely be writing my review for that shortly. Right now I'd like to give you some of my impressions, though. I just recently got my Nintendo Wi-Fi working for my new house, so I just recently got to try online. I don't see what the big deal is. It's fun and all, but it's not as good as people say it is. I can't figure out how to use taunts, and no one will give me a long enough break to let me figure it out. Of course I could ask via taunts, but if I could do that, then I wouldn't really need to know. I'll also probably re-write my review for Ratchet: Deadlocked, as I've been playing the game in first-person, and it's a lot better. I'll most likely up my score to an 8.0. (The previous score was a 7.0 or 7.5. I can't remember) With all these reviews coming, I'll probably level up. I'll spread out my reviews throughout the week. Not this week, of course.

In other news,we're going up to Georgia to visit Stone Mountain, and we're also going up to Disney. This, however, will be hard for me to enjoy, as I'm clastrophobic and afraid of heights. I'm sure I'll find a way to enjoy it, though. But what if I dont? Gah. I guess I shouldn't worry about it right now. Just bring some chill-pills and some Pepto-Bismol and I'll be fine. We also got a new trampoline. It's much bigger than your trampoline. :P It's actually not so big, as it is tall. Seriously, I've gotta get on the thing one leg at a time, where as the other one could be jumped onto. The other broke, though. Oh well, the new one is still much better. We also got new swings, which are a lot better than our previous swings. They go higher and are more comfortable on my butt than the previous ones. Believe it or not, I just learned how to swing. Yeah, sue me, but I never used the swing before, so how was I supposed to know? Oh well, I know now, and that's what matters. We're also FINALLY learning our multiplacations. If you think we're behind, then you're wrong. Actually, a lot of people don't learn until they're, like, 15. We were going to learn a while ago, but our mom was so busy with the house and all that crap.

Another thing, I also got PhotoShop CS3 Extended. Actually, I got a special package that includes: InDesign CS3, PhotoShop CS3 Extended, Illustrator CS3, Flash CS3 Professional, Dreamweaver CS3, Acrobat 8 Professional, Bridge CS3, Version Cue CS3, Device Central CS3 and Stock Photos and Acrobat Connect. It also inlcludes a video that shows how to use the programs. I bet a lot of those last ones aren't even programs. Seriously, I don't know what half those things are. I'm not rubbing it in or anything, just for the record. It only costed like $500, when all of the programs seperately would've costed a few thousand. Now for something completely different: We got new furniture for the backyard the other day. We spent about 20 minutes outside putting the chairs together, but it was worth it, because now we can eat outside, and it's ten times better than eating inside. Especially when the weather is this nice. Also, our mom has been trying some new recipes for pita bread, and she's found the perfect one. It's delicious, and if you guys had any idea of how good it tastes, you would wish you were me.

Another thing: My brother and I started playing RuneScape again. They got about a million new cool updates, which will make the game worthwhile. We've gotta finish our multiplacations before we can get our memberships back, though, and at the rate we're going at, it could be a while. We've gone like 4 days staright without doing them because our mom has been busy. Well, at least we know our eights. Oh yeah, everyone in our family wants pet ducks! I know, it's pretty random, but seriously, wouldn't you like pet ducks? I know we won't get them, but our dad said that if we get them, he's naming his "Ducktari", after an old book titled "Dacktari". But... yeah... My parents often say they want stuff or that we're going to get stuff and then we never get it. Besides, we travel too much to have pet ducks. Oh well, it's still a fun thought. :) That's all for now. Good day.

Haircut!!! >:(

Awww... crap. I got a haircut today. I have nothing against haircuts, but they cut my hair WAY too short. Look at me! Er... I mean... DON'T LOOK AT ME!
