Why 8PM PDT? That's such a ridiculous time to launch this...

@videogameninja: Honestly, 2TB on a custom NVMe SSD is completely bonkers for pricing. The Xbox SX would be $599 with that much storage. Gotta control the costs. Add the extra 1TB if you want when you end up needing it and I agree, we'll probably need it as Microsoft's acquisitions of studios begin churning quality content that's on GamePass. But until then we might get away with "1 TB". Also, most games aren't 100GB, just Modern Warfare. Microsoft did tout some impressive compression technology that does a good job of keeping file sizes in check so we'll probably see more like 60-70 GB game sizes on average if they're going for lower compression 4K technology.

@mooglestar: Also, QLED is a great technology that's more affordable and brighter than OLED panels on average. OLED might look nice but it's not as good for overcoming external lighting sources (sunlight, room lights). And you typically pay at least $300 more for an OLED panel compared to the QLED panel.

OLED is great but QLED is a fair competitor and typically is cheaper than OLED, so if you're shopping on a limited budget and can't go in $1,500 on an OLED display, look into QLED. Some sets may have lesser viewing angle performance but you're not playing games from the side of the TV - everyone games from right in front of the TV. Also, for the PC monitors being used for gaming, it's nearly impossible to find a 4K 120 Hz panel right now so just don't expect to be able to do that. The ones that do exist are as expensive as a 55" TV that is just as good. And the HDR issue is real on monitors. I have an LG 32" 4k monitor that looks great but it doesn't have HDR (DCI-P3 95% isn't HDR). You'll struggle to find an HDR10-compliant monitor at a reasonable price (under $500). You're better off looking for a TV, not a monitor, when replacing your current TV with something fully capable of the next generation of gaming.

LG has a 4K HDR set with 120 Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1, low latency and support for FreeSync for under $1,000 and that might be your best buy that's reasonable quality for the moment. Other sets are coming that will be competitive in the next 2 months too.

I'm a little confused how an official release by Respawn Entertainment for one trailer qualifies as a "leak". Respawn's Battle Charge trailer was teased directly by the developer and confirmed the July 2 release of season 2. The second trailer that shows a mildly reformed Kings Canyon is what seems to have leaked, though I'm not so certain that it wasn't intentional because we're just a few days away at this moment from the release of season 2.

@gamingdevil800: I found Halo 4 to be a decent campaign. Halo 5 was OK but the narrative was much different than we were lead to believe through marketing.

As the other commenter said, the gameplay hasn't kept up. It's a stale formula just like Gears of War has been. But the issue of 343 taking over isn't the major issue because a lot of ex-Bungie employees took jobs with 343 when Halo was purchased from Bungie by Microsoft. The failure to evolve Halo up until now has been the downfall of the game. It sounds like Halo 6 is going to finally play with the formula and shake things up considerably so I'll say I have optimism that Halo 6 is going to be a rebirth of Halo.

@YSLGuru: A federal court judge ruled the male-only draft unconstitutional. I believe they're close to enacting a draft system that would require both male and female participants. We've been close to passing that in the US before and I'm certain it'll be the requirement if there's going to be any draft option available for the US military.

You can't force the issue. Put out a message to women wherever you go that they're wanted in gaming and they can make a positive impact. There are women in the industry but it's a male-dominated industry, just like the armed forces, car sales, construction, trade work... you can't force women to sign up and be a part of something. They have to want to be a part of it and they have to be good at it. They certainly can be but if you put it out there that women MUST increase their presence and you stack the deck to make it happen, you'll have made a real mess of things and your quality could suffer simply because you hired someone that didn't have the necessary skills to meet the demands. Skills, not gender, determine quality.

@archav3n: If you're referring to America's armed forced they're actually slowly doing that. Women were a more protected "class" within the armed forces for so long but now they're being asked to step up since they want to be treated equally and take on the crap assignments and high-risk situations even more.
