The battle for first place is already over. It is obvious SONY will sell the most consoles next gen.
The only question is who will take 2nd place?
Nintendo has a bunch of loveable IPs like Mario, Zelda and Metroid that are system sellers. People aren't going to buy 3rd party multiplats on the Wii U. They buy nintendo consoles for the strong first party games.
On Microsoft's end, you have a bunch of 3rd party multiplats, BUT, gamers will want to buy these multiplats on the PS4. All Microsoft has left is Halo and forza. Forza will flop and Halo is now a mediocre exclusive bordering on sub-mediocre territory. Things look bad for microsoft...

Microsoft isnt forcing me to buy Live, I want the best online gaming service available and it is worth $3 a month to me. Microsoft offers a product/service and people choose to pay for it because they think it is worth their hard earned money. That is not a "ripoff".. Awww....one of my favorite of the few xbot drones "rationalizations" for xbl- basically trying to "rationalize" M$ f@$king them over(with xbl and many other things) LOL it has to be said, you xbot drones are delusional. But yeah, one of my favorites is... "You get what you pay for" Not when its for basic online play over your own bandwith and a party chat feature that has nothing to do with gaming lol All things considered, it really shouldn't be costing any where near 60$ a year IMO. 60$ a year can really hurt you in the long run too. The costs add up significantly over the years. And all that money could instead be used to buy more games ect. Both are peer to peer connections, except one is charging you a ridiculous fee for a feature that is free every where else, while the other (PSN) keeps basic online play free. And in fact more games over PSN have dedicated servers then games over xbl. So what's your excuse...oh I'm sorry...xbot drone "rationalization" for that? Bottom line, Xbox live is 60$ a year. You HAVE TO PAY IT ALL in full. You dont get to pay it monthly. "Its only 3$ a month," doesn't matter, and is irrelavant, because they don't give you that option to pay 3$ a month. So let's say you bought a $60 game, and just wanted to play it online, IF you bought it for the PS3 or the Wii, you get what you paid for, and you can jump online immediately with no fees... Well, if you bought it for the 360, You now have to pay ANOTHER 60$... And keep in mind that that 60$ is A YEARLY FEE, which adds up significantly... just in order to unlock the part of the game that you had already paid for, and should have been given acess to, And would have been able to acess the multi player on every other platform for free. So not only that, but M$ is charging you for online play over your OWN bandwith, which is another bill in itself altogether. Bottom line is that every where else online play is free, but on the 360, its an extortion fee that you have to pay to access. That's just corporate greed from M$ it its most ugly. And what's insane, is that lemming drones will willingly bend over for M$, touch their ankles, and take it up the butt from M$. And even have the actual audacity to defend them over the internet. When you also think about all the adds on XBL as well, and how much revenue is generated by them....that's even more money M$ is making...AND Yet they RAISED the price of XBL even more so to $60 a year? So lemmings are basically being panhandled for all their hard earned money by M$. And they ACCEPT IT. We as consumers , and real gamers, should let our voices be heard. We shouldnt defend shady M$ business tactics like that. We should oppose them, And maybe just maybe we can drive XBL away like PC gamers managed to do when M$ tried that scam on them.
