It's nice that the screen on the 3000 has better color definition and such. Honestly I like how they changed the Home/Start/Select buttons to ovals instead of like upside-down hemispheres, and the skinnier ring on the UMD door is pretty sexy. I'll be picking one up eventually, provided the PSP-4000 or PSP-5000 isn't out by then, haha.

Hmm... I'll have to wait and see what the price point does by the time I build my gaming/programming PC this fall for school. If it doesn't drop much I may have to go ahead and go with the 9800 GX2 still, but then again maybe not. It looks like in most cases it performs better than the 9800, especially in performance tests, but there are still some instances in which it performs a little under par of what the 9800 can do. Not sure what to think.

I've been interested in throwing a solid state drive into my PS3 since I first heard about them, but of course the cost was a major issue. After seeing some results, its also hard to justify making the purchase when it significantly increasing the installation time of games, although it shortens load times on a few (but only by a few seconds in most cases). Count me out on this one :/

Most developers are still making multi-platform games for the 360 first and then porting them over to the PS3, so of course its gonna look better on the 360. It makes things more difficult for them to start with the PS3 and move to the 360 because of the 360's limited disc capacity, compared to the space of the Bluray discs. Higher-resolution textures and such that make a difference in visuals are obviously larger in size than lower-res textures, so more storage space does equal a better looking game in the long run. I believe pitting exclusive titles against each other would be a better source of comparisons, but then its not really a "comparison" because its not the same game. In most cases it just looks like the 360 versions are "darker" if anything, except for a few titles where the shadows look a little more smooth on the 360, such as Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I guess it doesn't really matter which system the game looks better on since I could just as easily get it for either one. Oh well.

I love the added weight that the rumble packs give to the DualShock 3 as opposed to the hollow-feeling SIXAXIS. The vibration itself that comes from the added hardware is just a nice little bonus :D

I've been waiting for this moment since I sold my old PSP. By now there are plenty of games in the library that I'd love to get my hands on, not to mention the new video output feature is something that I used to believe was only a DREAM of mine. Actually gives reason to buy UMD movies! Also now that its slimmed up I believe it'll be much easier on the user to play for long periods of time without having to rest the handheld on something while you do. Even with its small size the weight adds up after extended periods of gametime, which brings up the issue of battery life. I don't necessarily know if I'll actually be recharging the thing less since I'll actually be using it much more often than my old PSP, but I'll definitely make things much more convenient. I'd like to pick up a Ceramic White version since I always considered importing a PSP just for the color, but since I'm not much of a Star Wars fan I dunno. Hopefully Sony will just go ahead and release the "non-Vader'd" Ceramic PSP in September, but if not I guess I can wait until October 9th and go ahead and get the Star Wars bundle since Battlefront looks pretty good anyways.

These aren't necessarily in order of what I want to try more, because I need to get ALL of these games... 1. Katamari Damacy - Always wanted to try but still haven't gotten ANY of them... 2. Trauma Center - I've wanted this game so bad for a long time, and I even know where to get it... 3. Psychonauts - A lot of buzz has been generated about this game and I've wanted to see what it was all about... 4. Lumines - This game has gotten great reviews from basically everywhere I've seen it, but still haven't gotten to it... 5. Final Fantasy IV - With a recent release on the GBA, I have no excuse for not giving this game a go, and I love RPG's...
