@squaresofter: Again, I said many of the ideas that Dark Souls uses were in Demon’s. But what more people played was Dark, and that is what has become influential. Popularity can be a measure of influence, at the very least is a vector by which ideas can be spread. Ideas can’t take root if no one hears or sees them.
I get it, Demon’s did a lot of it first, and paved the way for Dark. But Dark’s iterations and executions of those ideas are what stuck with people and influenced them. Dark Souls is the most influential title in the series.

@squaresofter: Demon's Souls was, comparatively, a niche title. As I said, a lot of what Dark Souls achieves was laid out in Demon's, but people paid attention to Dark. That's the game that achieved mainstream success, thus it's the game that carries the most influence.
I love Demon's as much as you do, but Dark is clearly the more influential of the two.
