Combat does get boring, but exploring the world is fun, the art work is awesome and the big boss battles are cool. Using super saiyan or other forms is awesome, i just wish the combat was better. Also the story line is a little too condensed imo, and the voice acting could be better.
the way the timelines are cut up are questionable, but a 4? Could not disagree more. Yennefer's backstory is fine, kind of a weird thing to mark points off for.
Nothing wrong with the genre itself, or the superhero theme, it's just that they could have more depth and be more meaningful than they have been so far. Like Netflix's Daredevil and Punisher for instance, they were much more than just action sequences and loads of cgi. But the Marvel movies for the most part have been targeting a wide audience, which includes children-young adults because that will bring the most profit. Unfortunately that kind of broad appeal doesn't leave a lot of room for more adult themes. But they are fun movies, and I really enjoyed Iron Man and RDJ's performance was great. It would be nice to see the genre expand rather expire.
@mperry_2000: yes, it was very ironic considering the reviewer didn't know basic things about the show and the lore. Nice try trying to turn it around with your "NO YOU". much logic. These were more bullet points deconstructing everything the reviewer got wrong, some of which was objectively incorrect, not whining.
The reviewer wanted Arya to kill Bran and wear his face or he didn't know how the faceless blood magic works. The reviewer said the white walkers didn't hear Arya approach which is also incorrect, rewatch it if you don't believe me. They hear her and it was just too late, the reviewer was objectively incorrect. He also seemed to not know about the night king's/white walker's origin even though it's shown. He also called the white walkers a race, which is incorrect.
So how am I telling the reviewer what the show is about? by stating the theme about the lord of light? that's a theme, it's not what the show is about nor is it what I said the show was about, in fact I haven't made any claims as to what it's about.
Also here is the definition of patronize so you can use it correctly in the future:
treat in a way that is apparently kind or helpful but that betrays a feeling of superiority.
the first part of the definition is important.
if you're going to criticize something at least display proper knowledge on the subject instead of just bashing it over and over because things didn't go the way you wanted them to. Otherwise the reviewer is just being an ass towards the people who made this show, because you know many of them probably look at the reviews and read them, right? you know that right? This was slightly demeaning and disrespectful towards the people who made this show with a "I know better, I would have done better" attitude. Once again, because it didn't go the reviewers way of his perfect vision for the show. But yes, go with your "no you" argument.
