This will be interesting. I've never liked anything this guy has said or done since gears of war 3. He was the one that announced Fortnite back in the day only to make a fortnite clone that failed. Now to be fair Fortnite wasn't going to be a BR game, nor was that even a thing when it was announced but it's still a bit ironic considering that he talks about making hardcore games and not catering to the masses like that. He also trash talked consoles and originally said lawbreakers was PC only and gonna appeal to fans of Unreal tournament. Then that game got casualized, and felt a lot less hardcore which alienated the fans. He also claimed that Lawbreakers was going to be a billion dollar IP and all the major companies laughed at him so yeah. No company can predict anything will be a billion dollar IP because that's just arrogant. On top of that Overwatch went on to become one of the most successful shooters and enjoyed all the success and esport Popularity Cliffy B wanted lawbreakers to have.
This doesn't mean crap because it doesn't mean those are all active users or know how many people sold theirs. Oculus can brag about millions of owners but I haven't touched mine in 8 months and have no plans to actively play it again anytime soon.
@olddadgamer: I think a lot of directors and producers of these movies are unhappy with it too. A lot of Netflix original movies were made with that intention, and the people that made the movie originally intended for it to be seen on the big screen and be eligible to win awards.
It's because they only want to work with companies they are willing to be bought out and micromanage internally. Just like the Tango games and well, how Prey with Human Head Studios was cancelled because they didn't want to be bought out.
@dlCHIEF58: I think as microsoft gets more exclusive content on the platform it will go up in price faster than xbox live did because it's gonna add way more value to the gamepass. But it can't be too much though because then people will just drop the subscription, even if it's still a good value considering what you get.
Bioware was at its best when the founders were there. I remember reading that they would buy out seats at movie showings once in a while to treat the whole team. I would imagine these days it's more of a grind to work there and the developers might not even be that passionate to work on a loot based shooter vs the more rpg heavy stuff they did back in the day.
@nikolistary: I think it will be Joel too, but I don't think he'll be dead in the game. The trailers want you to think that and they also teased that someone major could die in Uncharted 4, which didn't happen. Naughty dog is pulling a fast one on people again!
The gamepass is awesome right now, but the question is when and how often will they increase the price on it? If there's anything I learned about subscription services, they only go up in price over time.
