@RS13: Agreed. Not only was it one of the best shows of the year, in my opinion it's one of the best scifi shows of all time. I can only guess that no one at gamespot watched it.
@joejoe1639: A lot of it has to do with the jobs being so project based. Companies staff up as a game goes through the development cycle, and then cut many of those jobs when the game is finished. It's too expensive to carry that large staff between games. People who work in VFX experience the same thing. You work incredibly hard for very long hours only to be back on the street at the end of the project. It's a rough way to make a living.
@hammer-throw: The game is a lot of fun. It's mostly a chill exploration and crafting game, The added story gives it more structure and makes it feel more goal oriented which I think helps the early hours a lot. Totally worth a buy if it sounds like your kind of thing.
@James_xeno: You're the one whining, not me. I'm fine with the decision, so no, it's you that needs to justify your behavior, not me. You do not represent the male fanbase. You represent only yourself. I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of male fans aren't currently having a hissy fit over this. There is precedent for female time lords. The Doctor is a Time Lord. Ergo, there's no reason the Doctor can't become a female. You know who I think is a much better authority on what can and can't happen with the show than you? The people who bloody write it.
Do you even watch science fiction? It has ALWAYS been political, from the social commentary of Metropolis, to the first biracial kiss on Star Trek, it has always been a medium for allegorical commentary on modern politics and society. If you can't deal with your precious and fragile world-view being challenged, maybe science fiction isn't for you.
@opossumtrot: He has a problem specifically because a female was just cast as the lead, so much so that he accused them of having contempt for him. That's so moronic it defies belief.
@sellingthings: The One X is liquid cooled. After how much the RROD fiasco cost them you can be sure that they test for heat very, very carefully these days.
