Lower the texture setting to high (you only have 1gb of usable of memory ultra needs 1gb+) , turn off HBAO use SSAO, and turn off AA, and your performance will be much much better. Also make to be using the latest drivers for your gpu's 12.4 I think, but its known that Crossfire can be quirky with BF3.

04dcarraher

This is a good guideline to stick to, my mate has 2 5770s like you and he plays it on all High I'm pretty sure, just stick to carraher's tips, MSAA and HBAO are killers of the FPS :)

Game would be so much better if it actually embraced the whole covert black operations thing.

Baranga

It does, and so did the first one. Black ops doesn't mean Sam Fisher. "An operation that is so planned and executed as to conceal the identity of or permit plausible denial by the sponsor. It is intended to create a political effect which can have implications in the military, intelligence or law enforcement arenas. Covert operations aim to fulfill their mission objectives without any parties knowing who sponsored or carried out the operation. It is normally financed by government revenues but in this age of super-empowered individuals and corporations they could become a common tool of power beyond traditional war and diplomacy."

Hehe oh ofcourse, I'm not implying it has to be something along the lines of a stealth game like SC, but... to directly quote your quote "Covert operations aim to fulfill their mission objectives with any parties knowing who sponsored or carried out the operation" Lets just stop and think for a moment about everything we saw in that trailer, the amount of explosions and large scale destruction assaulting us in the face really does not help us feel as if we are apart of anything remotely related to a covert assignment, and the gameplay will reflect this. There is nothing clandestine about this at all.

GamesRadar:

Throughout the campaign there will be moments where decisions could potentially affect which characters live or die and change what events occur in later missions. We?re not exactly sure how these decision-events will play out or if there will be a Mass Effect-like Paragon/Renegade series of paths, but events and character relationships will be greatly affected by those specific moments. Rather than having a completely linear story campaign, Treyarch is taking a choose-your-own-adventure style approach with a branching storyline. Some elements of the story will also change depending on the performance of certain levels in Strike Force.

Strike Force takes Call of Duty to the sandbox, forcing player choice and changing campaign events depending on performance. These missions take place away from the main characters but utilize a Black Ops SEALs team to carry out the objective. Players will reach these missions in the campaign, and then are given the option of which mission (out of several) they can take. You don't have to be "succeed" to move on, but the result will affect the story.

Kotaku on Strike Force:

The missions play out over large, sandbox-y levels, which will call on players to use tactical thinking and creative problem solving to an extent we've certainly never seen in the corridor-happy Cal of Duty franchise before. It may not hit the heights of a true Tom Clancy game (particularly not a GRAW game), but it's still a big shift.

The map I saw seemed quite a bit larger than an average multiplayer map, though nowhere near as sprawling as a large Battlefield map. As you play, a series of varied, narrative-driven objectives will roll over the map.

Players will have the option of hopping between the flying Quad drone, the CLAW tank, another armored mechanized tank, and any of the members of their squad. It wasn't confirmed whether there will be more units available than that in the finished game.

DX11 confirmed

Zubinen

What they won't tell you is DX11 mode will take months to patch before even high-end rigs can play it at 10+ FPS(this possibly may even be the case for DX9 mode as well)

I actually had to stop and take another glance, does that really say DX11 confirmed? what? why? What features could DX11 possibly bring to such an outdated engine, it will just make the weak areas of the visuals become even more apparent, IWEngine needs to be abandoned for something better, it's completely ancient.

i don't think they have grasped what a black operation actually is, lol.

PcGamingRig

Does it involve shooting everything in sight and blowing up lots of things :) *sarcasm*

Game would be so much better if it actually embraced the whole covert black operations thing.

[QUOTE="Tribaz86"]Yes that is my current PC , i was thinking of getting the new gtx 680 or waiting for the mid range 600 series , would that be overkill? also what kind of ram and how much would you recommend me to max out battlefield 3?topgunmv

joker2x.jpg

Those are my specs. I can max everything except for regular msaa which I leave off (I just use the shader aa) in the campaign, and for multiplayer I just have to turn the textures down to high (you need a 2-3 gb card for ultra textures in multiplayer).

I agree with this, most of this translates to my 5970, especially the textures, you definitely need something with a good amount of vram.

FOR $999 :o

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/computers/nvidia-unleashes-999-geforce-gtx-690-dual-gpu-graphics-card/7989

Apparently it's as powerful as two 680's in sli.

ionusX

in benchmarks yes. in games thats not always true. its also longer than an hd 5970

Longer than a 5970? It's a no go for me then, my 5970 only just fits in my case, with mm to spare, anything bigger will not fit :P

I'm kind of suprised that Nvidia beat AMD to the Dual-GPU card for this gen, given how long the 7970 has been out for now I was expecting them to be first to the game. I'm not sure what to expect with the 7990 after seeing the 690, bit of an odd situation in my mind, will it be a better bang for your buck card or will they try take Nvidia head on for the performance crown. Thoughts?

Playing MW3 makes me nauseous. Can't sit at it for more than 20 minutes, even after texture blur fixes. Maybe it's the FOV. C_Rule
