@orochi_kyo How are console stores not beneficial to the developers? If anything they are a God-send! Not everyone uses their PC's for gaming these days. Some people still don't have them....
Waiting for an XBox live or PSN release is not selfish at all. In the long run the developers are still getting your pennies, it may cost them a bundle to port them, but they wouldn't do it if they wanted people to experience them more. It just makes the games easier for everyone to play.
Most developers dream about getting their games on Xbox Marketplace, because they know people will want to play it.
I highly doubt Spelunky or Minecraft would have nearly as much sales as they do without the Marketplace.
If people want to wait for a specific game to come out, let them!
I bought Retro City Rampage originally for Xbox live. Now I have it on PC and PSN too. So, is that being "selfish" towards Brian Provinciano, because I waited for the Xbox one first? No, now he's got my cash three times.
Point is, developers spending a bit of money so their fans can choose what to play their games on is no wrong doing...
Been very impressed with indie games the past couple of years, It seems like just yesterday Super Meat Boy popped into my life, now my Xbox and PS3 are almost full.
No matter how many new games I end up of with, (I'm usually trying to juggle 3 or 4 games at a time) I always find myself back on Trials eventually.
It's so versatile, almost anything can be done. Truly inspiring, considering how the series started out. Just like the LittleBigPlanet community, this one is always thriving with new things to try every day.
Easily my best download of 2012, next to Minecraft.
See, the ammount of comments here saying it's "pointless" and "stupid".
Now, I ask you, fellow gaming community. What will it take?! You all always complain about how so many games are all the same and you all want something different. But, when something new comes to the table, you all just turn your heads and complain some more that it won't work, or that it will suck.
Gamers, do yourselves a favour, and open your minds, just a little bit more. How is the industry of gaming supposed to move forward if you won't let it? All these new ideas being thrown out there that you're missing out on because you won't leave your comfort zones.
With all the motion controls and touch screens on other devices nowadays, I can't see why people won't let developers give them something new. You don't want to move forward, you're happy with the same game being released on the same engine 9 times over.
Sure, I something ain't broke, don't fix it. But, soon enough people will complain about the repetition, and yet, flip the finger to new age ideas. Gamers really shoot themselves in the foot these days.
