so i just got back from another walmart 30 minutes away & was able to secure a preorder for a deluxe Wii U (32g blck) via layaway :P

id suggest everybody try this if u're still looking.. apparently not every walmart has a little layaway center because it was the 1st time i ever seen it, but im happy now :D i wonder if i need to preorder sum games now??

I think most places in the US have sold out, some are still doing pre-orders but not many from what I've read on here. You're best bet if you can't find one of these places still taking orders is to camp outside the store for a few hours before there midnight openings (and try to be one of the first there) as some often have a couple extra systems that wheren't available for pre-order for people in your situation, otherwise it might not be possible to get one until next year, though I doubt they'll really let it get as out of hand as the Wii shortages did.

im not quite desperate enough to wait outside the store for hours especially when there's no guarantees.. otherwise id be the 1st one there. i don't wanna walk in just to be asked "did you have a preorder?"

thxs for the advice.. i may have to try that if all else fails Well, i'm just saying in my experience, most places usually do have extras. That was how I managed to get my Wii at launch, as I wasn't sure until pretty much the day before it's release if I'd have the money to buy it at launch. One other thing you could do is visit places the day after launch and ask if they have any in. It's sometimes the case that people will pre-order and either, end up not have the money to get it, or forget about it. At that point you could go in and ask if this has happened and see if you can get lucky.

well apparently not every walmart is taking preorders in-store because the guy said he had never seen anything about it & he's been working there awhile.. checked his computer & everything. then he told me it was first come first serve.. but he didn't sound too sure of himself, so idk! guess ill try some more stores tom & see what they say.

i went to walmart to ask about the preorder & the guy said that they were never taking preorders in the store.. he sounded pretty sure of himself so idk if its just with particular walmart stores or if that guy didn't know what he was talking about. im tempted to try again

i made the mistake of not pre-ordering a Wii U sooner & i'm wanting a 32g(black) but i refuse to pay "extra" to get one. so how long can i expect to wait for them to get more instock? im not gonna freak out if i have to wait a week or something but its gonna suck if im waiting a month or two

i'm just wondering why the list of Wii U games is so sad.. its not helping ppl get psyched for it. i would like to see: Dark Souls, Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, Ocarina of Time HD and other Nintendo exclusives in HD just to name a few.. something to tie us over til the new stuff comes out
