I don't like FP view games much either, I prefer TP view for the most part. Even when a game that is designed for FP perspective gives an option for TP like Oblivion I find that it does not translate well when switching to TP view. Granted I know the subject asks about FPS games, but I think my thoughts on Oblivion falls in range of what is being discussed here. On to actual shooters, I only enjoyed playing Goldeneye and Bioshock and it took me to give it a second try with a dedicated focus to get into Bioshock. After the first few hours I found that Bioshock turned out to be one my favorite games.

Although to ask what is good about a genre that you have already attempted to try and not like while realizing others do enjoy appears to be a bit rhetorical.

I was playing through Final Fantasy Tactics for the first time and had logged roughly 75+ hours in the game when all of the sudden a power outtage hit my area for a few seconds. When I turned the game back on and tried to start from the last save spot I realized that the incident wiped my memory card. It was one of the most frustrating gaming experiences of my life. Good thing that it is a great game otherwise I probably would have never picked it up to try and play it again due to the level of anguish I endured.
