[QUOTE="GodModeEnabled"][QUOTE="trifecta_basic"]Not suprising at all, considering it's what the first game should of recieved all along.trifecta_basic

What? Did you actually ever play the first game? Its not that bad, an AO rating is like the stamp of doom for our industry, and the hypocrisy from you people sickens me. Would you expect films like Hostel and Saw to not be shown in theaters or given a dvd release carried by major retailers? No I didn't think so, give me a break.

Yes, I own it thank you very much. And claiming Hostel and Saw is as violent as Manhunt is categorically false and a weak cop-out.

Wtf? Have you seen Hostel? That movie nearly made me barf several times. You think Hostel is less violent than Manhunt??? I would get into scene descriptons here but my point still stands that one entertainment medium shouldnt be getting the shaft over another, its hypocrital censorship and does nothing but limit the growth of our industry.

I don't think so. Even if the game slipped by it's a 500K at the most, not exactly a big loss. And the controversy from the game getting an M would be much more damning then what is happening now. They were already watchgroups waiting to pounce on the ESRB(read the letter to Patricia Vance) if they even considered giving the game a M.

Hostel and Saw are disturbing and contain extreme violence, but they do not depict the amount of violent acts in nearly as much detail and repetition as a full session of Manhunt. Not even close.

To be honest, it doesn't shock or suprise me that the game is receiving an AO rating, and I don't think that this would have been much of a shocker to others if some self-prclaimed watchdog group weren't trumpeting a moral victory.

Take Two still has time to make some moves, including getting the game rerated. If they can somehow convince the ESRB that the game isn't worth an AO, then the game should receive a re-rating, but I can guarantee that if that's the case, the watchdogs and Jack Thompsons of the world will become hopping mad and only work to give everyone a headache.

bought FFX before I got my PS2stake
Same here.  I bought FFX about a week before moving back into my college's dorms, and then bought a PS2 after I finished moving in.

I'm 99.9% certain that the 360 will see a $50+ pricecut when Halo 3 is released since this will most likely be the same time the new 65nm systems come out also.Archangel3371
Part of me thinks that this is possible, but I'm not going to bet the house on it.  Microsoft may very well believe that Halo 3 will boost 360 sales without the need of a price drop.

PRICE DROP NOW SONY!  You are failing miserably all over the place cause of an insane price point.  They better be in full panic mode, their offices better look like the end of Spaceballs when the self destruct sequence went off.  I am a proud owner of a PS3 and the last thing I need is this system to just die.  Now I know it wont but with a performance like this who in the hell is going to give you exclusives, no one.

I dont care how they do it, hire some freaking magicians, but drop that price immediately!

 Spaceballs, excellent movie.

If anything, Kutaragi did Sony no favors by essentially playing the part of Dark Helmet.  Arrogant, condescending, and completely, utterly clueless to the nature of reality.  Of course, he was already jettisoned from the company, which means that the Spaceballs analogy, while hilarious, doesn't quite fit in my mind.

He could be the bearded lady.  That leaves Phil Harrison as Dark Helmet, Kaz as the assistant dude and the Sony owner as the President, left all alone in a ship about to explode.

Now that works.

One of my friends was among the people that bought one of those 82,000 units, but to see the system selling like this within its first six months is not a good sign.  Granted, Sony's biggest hits haven't landed yet, but I have a hard time believing that it will really matter as long as the $600 price remains in tact.  However, if they do drop the price, they just stand to lose more money on top of the collosal amount that Sony's game division flushed down the toilet in the past financial year.

It's a conundrum, and at this point, I don't know if Sony will be able to solve it very easily.
