I read recently that gaming addiction ("Gaming Disorder") is now an actual mental health condition according to the World Health Organization. What do you think???
I feel like gaming a lot doesn't NECESSARILY mean "addiction"? Pathological gaming is not the same as non-pathological gaming.
I want to do justice to players that aren't pathological and make sure diagnoses are only made to those whose gaming behaviours have detrimental impacts on the gamer's physical, mental, and social health. Thus, I'll be writing my thesis on the predictors of online gaming while distinguishing between gaming addiction and "high engagement".
This could have really important implications on how gaming is seen by the public, so PLEASE help to fill out my questionnaire - should only take ard 10 minutes. Link is here: -> goo.gl/forms/DbPMhL7FI9Hs7zZC3
Shoot me a message or email if you have anything you want me to take note of - my details are on the informed consent form page.
Thank you so much I would really appreciate your help.
