I'm testing out the beta right now and i'm freakin' loving it! This is so much better than Vista in many ways. The new task bar is pure genius, and able to pin items to the task bar to open them whenever is very convenient. Right now, Media Player 12 keeps freezing up. But it's beta, they rely on people to send them feedback on what's going wrong. So far, i'm planning on getting this when it hits retail. Microsoft is definatly learning from their Vista mistakes while trying to redeem themselves.
obviously they're trying to push for Vista. Anyone using HD cables with their Xbox remember the vibrance of the blue on the Halo 2 opening menu? The sharp lines in the game's UI and the crisp colors? These Vista screenshots look like someone made 3D cardboard cutouts, and pasted decals on them. The Xbox version looked like it had texture to it and actually looked life like! If I get the pc version, it would be for the extras. But personally, i'd rather be laid back in my recliner with my wireless controller and a Mt. Dew beside me while playing on my 52" HD monitor. There are just some things the pc version can't replace.
Dammit! Looks like i'm gonna have to wait for the Microsoft Wireless Gaming Adapter to come out before I can use the headset on my computer. Oh well, hope even that works with the wga on my computer.
I noticed House of the Dead III and Pump It Up: Exceed is on the list. Something they they may have failed to remember is for PIU the dance mat as mandatory seeing how there are four arrows and a center button. And as for House of the Dead III, people like me who have the Light Rifle or Light Gun can't use it on the 360, so both titles are screwed over right there for me!
