I don't get it when people keep talking about a price drop for a system that is not even a month old in the market. The PSP was $249.99 at launch and it included a case, Demo disc, Movie disc, Earphones, a cheap Memory Stick of some mb just for saving games. The system basically got only one price drop, $199.99 with a game and cheap Memory Stick. It was like that until last holiday season that the system got a price drop to $129.99 but it came with no game or Memory or anything, add the memory for $29.99 and a $29.99 game and you got a $190 dollars system. Oh and that last so called price drop was after 6 years! Wow 6 years!

Imo the problem is highly exaggerated. The games are perfectly playable and look good enough.

Edit: The picture is blurrier, there's no denyin' but personally I'm fine with it.

You're right people keep exaggerating. What I find funny is that they are not paying attention, the games colors are what doesn't look the same. They are not super blurry like they say. It is something with the color pallet. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS SITE AND ALL OF YOU WILL UNDERSTAND MORE: http://3dsforums.com/nintendo-3ds-3/how-ds-games-really-look-3ds-13654/index3.html

[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"][QUOTE="Wrecked69"]Lets see... PSP 1000, PSP 2000, PSP 3000, PSP Go. Yeah I think theres a good chance.Wrecked69
In the case of the PSP, it was a system that clearly could be improved specially in the size department. With the PSVIta is another story,the system's creen is very big so unless they shrink this big screen the system will stay the same size.

They did it (reducing screen size) with the Go, Nintendo has done it countless times as well. Reiterations of handhelds are just the way it is. Rest assured SOMETHING will surely be "improved" upon at least a couple times. They love sales! Fortunately, the improvements are usually never important enough for you to need to upgrade should you already have a handheld. I've held onto my first DS (lite) since I bought it, as well as my psp 1k. I would honestly be surprised if they were to upgrade the system drastically enough to warrant people to buy a newer model. even with the radical redesign of the Go... well, you know how that went.

Well I wouldn't called the PSPGO an improvement. For me that was an experiment to see if people were whiling to just go download only.

[QUOTE="mvirata"]

This is my first console where I didn't actually buy a game. I hate the launch lineup, but I love the tech and there are plenty of demos, and things to do. I don't have a tablet and now that I have this, I doubt I'll get one soon. It's perfect for browsing the web and social networking while sitting around in the bed. I can't wait to bring some movies and music over and start testing out the camera.

Dat dere web browser is one of the worst around

Dat dere camera is comparable to phones a decade ago

Dat dere launch lineup is one of the better launch lineups in history. Sure Uncharted isn't as good as the PS3 Halo series that has evolved over the past 6 years but you can't mistake it and is a damn good representation of the consoles abilities as a launch game. I guarantee if Uncharted 2/3 didn't exist and reviewers were unbiased, they would not be making comparisons to the console versions and it would have scored much higher (9ish). You have platforming goodness in Uncharted and Rayman, good Puzzles, Decent fighters, OK shooters.

People seem so convinced "COD will be a killer app" (and I hope it is) but it could be just like Uncharted; especially at GS where they hate anything Vita. It will be compared to MW3 and how craptacular it is despite being the best shooter on a portable system.

What is most surprising is that you think the launch lineup sucks but like the camera and browser which would generally indicate you have like no technology. One would think you would be loving even the worst of the lineup games as they are still indicative of a true next gen portable gaming experience and you are just excited about a "next gen" Browser and camera (that both are a decade old). LULS.

THE PSVITA CAMERAS ARE NOT MEANT TO TAKE REAL PICTURES. They are for gameplay not pictures.

They would sell more if they made games cheaper. Take a look at what Steam does with PC Gaming, great discounts and gains billions every year.

tjricardo089
The problem is that most games cost a bunch of money to be made and if companies sell them cheaply like $10 to $30 they will be risking everything. They will be putting employers work and their company in a dangerous situation. What if they spend millions creating a pair of games and then decide to sell then for $30 at launch? It will be great but if they don't sell like what happens with new franchises? That works on PC because most of the games are very old and on some situations they sell them very cheap after doing a lot of money on consoles.

I can't see them scaling it down without making the screen smaller, and that would defeat the purpose of the Vita.JustPlainLucas
That's what I think. The PSVita can't get smaller unless they shrink the screen size. The only thing they can change can be making it less fat.

Do you like the current games? If so, you may like buying one. Games are the number one thing that should make you buy a system. Personally I don't like small games like most available for phones and while I know you can spent money and built a powerful PC for games that's is not what I like. The mayority of PC games are specifically shooters and pure western games, I'm more toward Japanese games and fighting games so in my case I would go with a PSVita or current console.

It doesn't change the fact that $40+ for a handheld is crazy. The costs for making these games are nothing compared to pc or the consoles, so how can they justify charging so much? Because they need to recoup the money from the hardware and there is less competition, plain and simple.yachtboy
Seriously, you're not acting like a real gamer. Most games for dedicated gaming systems cost even millions to develop. We're not talking about those 2d simple games like Angry Birds and games with great graphics that are very simple and finished in an hour. Most of those games cost $1.99 to $4.99 for a reason. Go and try to find a game like Uncharted on a phone, or Gravity Rush.
