[QUOTE="Starshine_M2A2"] It clearly was directed at me and my notification of reporting you was an attempt to get you to back down and save yourself from moral suicide. If anything you should be thanking me...Starshine_M2A2

In a single sentence you have managed to both assume diety like powers in determining my intentions, and placed yourself as my moral compass. I've got to go to work now, I guess I'll have to look up the definition of "narcissism" later.

The idea that you have a job...

Now that wasn't very polite, was it? Way to take that veil off your insult though, I find direct approach much more useful.

[QUOTE="Starshine_M2A2"] Calculate the number of people playing pirated copies with the price tag of each unit and you come up with the losses. Caches of pirated copies are seized all the time from which companies can deduce their losses based on the amount of copies. You argument has been put down.Starshine_M2A2

You have failed to produce a single link, document, quote of any of these things.

As have you.

Uh... that's very much a non-point considering the fact that all I'm saying is that you haven't... but whatever. Tell me, how exactly would I go about securing documents that claim that these documents don't exist? My point isn't on trial here, it's adequately supported by your lack of proof.

[QUOTE="Starshine_M2A2"]

No, i'd prefer to lament on it in the same way that I think more broadly *on* something. And you keep going on about me violating forum rules but what your 'jackass' and 'f***ing idiot' comments? Are you not also guilty of violating these rules? Are you also capable of descending from your high horse?

Starshine_M2A2

1. ****ing is not a word.

2. Whatever you think that word might be was never directed at you.

3. I didn't brag about being a back-seat moderator and brag about reporting you, so the only person on a high horse here is you; claiming your facts are opinions, questioning the intelligence and morals of others with no course of reproach for yourself that didn't put others in a scandalous light.

4. P.S. you're still off topic.

[QUOTE="snared04"]

But back in "on topic land":

Neither anti-pirating people nor game companies can tangibly prove how much "loss" occurs from pirating. Loss, herein being a strange word, because IP "theft" is a little unique, is it not? You can't take a car, a pizza, or someone's shoes without them being left with nothing, and yet pirating a game doesn't actually do any of those things, you're simply using an unlicensed version of that software. You are, after all, paying for a license, not the software itself.

Morally questionable? Absolutely. Then again so is developers releasing broken games that they won't fix or refund your money for.

Actually my argument is as strong as ever. You have failed to produce a single link, document, quote of any of these things. "Calculate the number of people playing pirated copies..." I think you're overlooking the monumental difficult that you so conveniently sum up with the single word "calculate". How would you go about calculating these numbers? Seizing copies? I'd say the vast, vast majority of pirated games exist in data form only. Most pirates don't walk around with stacks of burned DVD's for you to "seize. Nice try, but you're still not digging yourself out of that mud trap you jumped into.

Now copy and paste the definition of 'lament' and correct yourself.

Starshine_M2A2

lament - to feel or express sorrow or regret.

Nope, that fits exactly what I was saying. Shouldn't you feel sadness or regret about violating forum rules?

[QUOTE="Starshine_M2A2"] Lament *on* that.Starshine_M2A2

The only thing better than someone resorting to grammar in a desparate attempt to turn an argument their way is to fail to do so, don't you think?

about

1. of; concerning; in regard to

2. connected or associated with

On would refer to something being physically placed on another object. It would not apply to a concept or a state of mind, therefore "about" is the appropriate preposition in this case. I didn't even end my sentence in it, so +1 syntax for me.

Actually, I was just quoting to you that an attempt at counter-flaming is a forum rules offense. Shouldn't you lament about that?

Lament *on* that.

[QUOTE="Starshine_M2A2"] Just stop insulting people that's all. I'm not doing nor is anyone else so why can't you follow our example? I think i'm engaging in the discussion but keeping it polite. So, i'm morally sound. Although I believe i have found a breach...Starshine_M2A2

If anyone knows what he's talking about, please clue me in, his point seems to be getting more and more diluted. You think therefore you are? You believe your own definition of politeness supercedes my own, therefore you are morally sound? If that's not closedminded then nothing is.

I thought that would be way over your head. Nevermind. Keep trying.

And now we're insulting my intelligence? You come full circle rather quickly. Hurry, make an insinuation about my age! It'll be fun, and predictable!
