@lordbeefjerky: well according to Cremy from the deep dive... along with there new compression method file sizes should be less once devs get use to the method... but knowing some devs they won't be conscience on the size of there game and just release bloated stuff..
GoT is a fairly big open world game and if those guys can pull off little to no loading, great graphics and a good file size, WTH is the other devs doing with there over-bloated file sizes
@datriax: don't take it for granted... they could have left the controller out and reduce the launch price... and sell the controllers for a nice tidy profit
so the most expensive part in the ps5 is the GC, SSD, RAM, then CPU in that order..
question is seeing as they want a faster transition to ps5 (not sure if thats possible now with the world on time out) BUT for that transition speed to happen u need a 399 launch price its just now a matter of how much of a hit they are will to take, after all the ps4 was losing somewhere of 120-130 per console sold if sony is will to take a similar or slightly bigger hit of say 150, that fast transition is possible..
@gamer112696: But won't Sony plan be a bit more future proof in terms for drive speed going ahead?
What it seems like is that they are releasing PCIe Gen 4.5 already (speed wise) and according to them they are working with some oem manufacturer to custom expandability..
they know nothing on pc matches that speed as yet BUT pc will catch it sometime next year and pass it the year after (2022)...
Seeing as Sony did say there studios have shifted over to ps5 development (2018)... Giving said studios at least 2yrs to whipe something up or just port over a advancement ps4 game..
I see this thing being shown fully by the 1st half of 2021 and launch fall 2021 (latest spring 2022)
I see MS getting the head-start with a fall 2020 release
Word to Sony, that SSD better be 1GB+ after update etc, and there's no reason (except laziness), ps5 can't be launch with the features ps4 already has already updated to..
@Sevenizz: its just Sony being cheap.. you NEVER EVER have to shut down a online section of a game... they just made a hard call and say since so few play it why keep it open when we can use those server on more active titles..
