..The final shot of Jack on the ground, smiling when the plane flew by was priceless. One of the best closing scenes for a series ever...Travo_basic

Yeah, the final scene really got me. I'll admit that I lost it when Vincent laid down beside Jack so he wouldn't have to die alone. It was just such a peaceful scene that I forgot about all of the questions I wanted answered.

[QUOTE="spazzx625"][QUOTE="blackngold29"]It's ridiculous that people are complaining that the MiB doesn't have a name, as if calling him Steve or Bob would've been more satisfying.MrGeezer

Actually, his name could (and probably is) very important symbolically. Most of the names in LOST are, and considering the level of mystery, this one must be a whopper.

I'd say that this is a certainty. They are deliberately avoiding saying his name, and there would be absolutely no reason this would be the case if his name was NOT extremely important.

I swear I heard Mother call him "Jose" as she was dying. Apparently Jose means He Will Enlargeand is a form of John :o Hmmm.....

Every episode this season should have been two hours long, screw V. It could have waited its turn until this summer.

Just a thought I had after watching the episode again: Could Mother be a smoke monster? She seems to know about the ill effects of going into the Light (a Poltergeist reference?). Also, how else could she have destroyed the MIB's village and buried the well without some sort of superhuman power? Gahh, my head's about to explode! :x

One thing from this episode really stuck with me: As Mother was dying, she looked at MIB and said "Thank You." Did anybody else notice that? WTF? Is eternal life and guardianship of the island a curse and/or a blessing? She had already passed the mantle on to Jacob, so did MIB set her free by killing her? I also wonder if Mother was someone else's candidate at one time or another. The wine she gave to Jacob...didn't he try to give it to MIB in Ab Aeterno? Hmmm...

When I saw the Light and heard Mother's description, one thing popped into my head: Pandora's Box (or Jar to be more accurate). All the evils of the world as well as the light of hope contained in one...um...thing. Could Smokey flying out of the cave be all those evils escaping?

So many questions, so little time. :(

Thats only the price a True collecter would buy a NES for.JuggaloRandall

True. Any regular person with no knowledge of gaming would probably turn their nose up at it if they spotted it for a few bucks at a garage sale. Then again, the true value of anything is determined only by how much somebody else is willing to pay for it.

To make amends with an old friend that I miss and owe one heck of an apology to. I've been trying to do this for years now.

Dude, I totally felt this last night!! It was at 4 in the morning, really weird, that's the second earthquake in 2 years around Chicago.WINDWAKER1

When I hear about events like this it always makes me wonder what's going on underneath my feet. We have sporadic little quakes every few years where I live. You can't feel a majority of them, but every now and then one will shake the house. When I did some research on it, I found out that geologists refer to my area as the East Tennessee Seismic Zone and it's actually a hotspot for faulting and small, frequent slips of the ground. There's not been a whole lot of study on it though. The New Madrid fault zone out west gets most of the attention. I worry about a"Big One" out there activating unknown/undetected faults here. It's scary, but absolutely fascinating.

I read this while making my rounds on the news sites this morning:

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/02/10/illinois.earthquake/index.html?hpt=T2

It's kind of scary to think about the possibilities given the recent events in Haiti, but at the same time, it makes me want to play I Am Alive. If it ever comes out, that is.

I would love to see:

  1. Antikythera (Greek Isle)
  2. Petra (Jordan)
  3. Lake Baikal (Russia)
  4. Machu Picchu (Peru)
  5. The Boiling Lake in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park (Dominica)

And tons of other places. There's a big, beautiful world out there that I have yet to see.

EDIT:

Add Akihabara (Tokyo) to that list - the mecca for all things geek!
