Meh.

Because people who play and develop video games as a hobby or job often do not read actual books as a hobby.

And you also cannot write a decent narrative around things that require user interaction to advance themselves.

It's a shame we don't have more developers that make gameplay focused games and more consumers demanding that video games be made the way they were always intended to be.
