So here's what happened: For a while, I had been playing on the 360 with my own profile, but never connected it to LIVE. I was planning on connecting it to a Microsoft account in the future, but never got around to it. A few days ago, I bought a new laptop that runs on Windows 8 and created a Microsoft account for it. I was going to link my Xbox profile to this account, but being the dummy that I am, I clicked on the Games app on my laptop and it automatically generated a gamertag for that account. I did some looking around on the internet and decided to just go ahead and make a new profile on my 360 using that Microsoft account. I then created a new Microsoft account and tried to move the gamertag on the old account to the new account, freeing up the old account so that I could link my 360 profile to it. The problem is that it won't let me do it. When It asks me if I want to change the profile to the new account (that is, move the unwanted gamertag to a different acccount) and select 'Yes, change', it gives me a message saying that it can't change accounts right now and to go to xbox.com/accountswap.
Is there a simple solution that I'm overlooking here? Any help would be appreciated.
