First true console I ever played was the Atari 2600 and the game was defender. I think I was about 3 or 4 years old when we got it. Looking back now the graphics on cell phone games blow the 2600 out of the water. Remember the game Adventure, where you were a yellow cube and had to take the three keys to the different castles and defeat the dragons, which looked more like alligators. We have seen a dramatic change these past 30+ years in video games. The depth and visual beauty of these new games weren't even fathomable when the NES debuted. I recently found a website that had the Atari game Adventure on it and i believe it took me about a minute and a half to complete it. Now you have role playing games with over 80 hours of gameplay and mechanics that weren't even in developers dreams 20 years ago. It is amazing how far programmers have come these past two decades in terms of gameplay, realism, and storyline. I really can't what too see what my children and grandchildren will be playing in the next 20 years. They say that baseball is America's favorite past time, I disagree. Video games will always play a major role in entertainment. So all you gamers out there keep gaming, let your ideas be heard, and lets see what these developers have in store for us down the road
