@emgesp: They've already said it will cost more than that.

@silversix_: Yeah, that's even worse than the VHS joke. You need better material if you want to become a grade a troll.

@joshrmeyer: Cool, like cool how? Think the One S is near enough perfect for this era - minimalistic and tiniest of logos. Ps3 slim was good at the time ....
I'd want something that tries to blend in - maybe a small led, matte colours .... something simple. The days of huge "X"s are over.

@pork7: Zune was a disaster as far as sales go - but my God I loved the thing. The colours, UI and desktop software still look good today. Kin was an unmitigated disaster.

@grasu: Strange. You censor the word "Hell" but not "Fuc****". Discuss.

@fedor: Battlefield 1 SP AI was way, way worse. Embarrasing.

@santinegrete: Gold represents great value - the games included alone are worth the price. Of course, you could go for a PS4 - they have better single player offline games. Xbox has better MP games for me.

@ermacos: Pedantics really.... you said anything more than 400 but didn't give a price either. I quoted the expected price point for Scorpio which is 500. 500 is in no way an extreme price for the components alone in Scorpio - you're welcome to price them - let alone the development, distribution and advertising costs. An RX480 alone which is what the GPU is based upon is 200 - 220 bucks ... without vapour cooling.

Your original point doesn't make sense which is why I commented. 400 won't get you a boxed PC with a 6tflp performance based on a vapour cooled RX480 GPU, 1TB HDD, 4K BluRay Drive, 12GB onboard, OS, Joypad plus mobo, cpu and psu....not even one you build yourself. No way.

So why would you expect to only pay 400 for Scorpio?

Of course you need an HDD in a console (For now) but that's included in the price. Your 700 buck list didn't, and although boxed PCs come with windows, it doesn't come for free unless - like you - there's some kind of deal floating around. Games generally come in at 25 - 50 GB, so I'm not sure why you think you can only get 2-3 games on them.

I have nothing against PCs - I spent thousands upgrading mine going back to the 3Dfx days - but as much as I understand that there are people who enjoy tweaking, overclocking, and upgrading their rigs, you have to understand that there are hundreds of millions of people who just want to turn their consoles on, kick back and play and that building a rig that will cost way more, look worse and sound louder just doesn't appeal to them.
