First of all let me say I'm sorry you live somewhere that forces you to buy each and every Wii game not caring if you want it or not. I say this because that's the only way you can complain about this. If you're not buying the games then why do you care?

As for the ports, it's easy. Follow the "Circle of Wii Life"

1. Devs didn't know the Wii would be this popular

2. Devs want games fast

3. Devs port games over so they can get in on the action

If you don't like the games ported over then you must want the Wii to have less games. Please follow this line of events then

1. Less titles on the Wii

2. Less titles people will play

3. Less games sold

4. Less devs want to make games for the console because they don't see sales

5. Wii fails horribly from lack of support

So I mean if a failing console is good news to you then you wont mind that second scenario playing out. I on the other hand rather fancy the Wii so I'm ok with more title to pick from.

I care because I invested $250 on a system and company that I grew up with. I care because there were many games that I wanted to play but only turn out to be ported versions of it. Why is that? I don't know. I was looking foward to play Soulcalibur Legends because 1) it's Soul Calibur and 2) it is a game specifically designed for the Wii, but after reading the reviews, I was thoroughly disappointed. I wish third party developers would make their franchise games exclusively on the Wii so that these games would be entirely original, and no one would complain about "ported games".

EA so far is getting it right with"The Godfather: Blackhand Edition" and"Medal of Honor Heroes 2" because EA has it's own Wii department so that developers can create games specifically designed for the Wii.Of course there will not be a GTA 4 on the Wii but there should be an original GTA gamefor the system specifically. Same thing goes for Metal Gear Solid (SSBB doesn't count, but avery nice touch nevertheless), Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, and Star Wars. You third party developersout there need to start creating your own Wii departments so that you can get the games right, ok?

i posted before, but forgot to add this

guys Jeffs firing probably can be explained by Cnet and even Edios...

u see, as a reviewer u r giving the consumers ur opinion on a game, but u dont have the right to tell them "Dont buy this game" (which he did ALOT in the video review)... u just cant do that, give ur opinion yeah, but tell customers dont buy, thats stupid

edios have every right to protest that, he could've said "for me the game is dont buy" but not say stright up "Dont buy it"

that's probably even in his contract, but im not sure

aalsheh

You've got to be kidding me! Jeff is a reviewer. He supposed to say things like that if he feels it's not a good game. Have you ever read the reviews that did not receive good reviews? DON'T PLAY THIS GAME!

Assuming you're the REAL Josh Larson, my replies are in italics

I don't understand why I need to "press release" anything for it to be considered truth. You all have made up your minds on what you want to believe, regardless of press release or not. There has been no press release on ANYTHING, but that hasn't stopped people from drawing their own conclusions and deciding what is fact, and what is false.

You're right, people will write down anything on the Internet, but when Gamespot alumni like Carrie Gouskos and Bob Colayco, and your current employees are questioning the handling of the situation,it is not something we "decide" to believe in.

I have a very good friend within the Eidos marketing team, who has told me that the review itself wasn't actually that bad on their end, but it was his video review that ruffled some feathers.

So what? Jeff's a reviewer. That's his job. And furthermore, I saw nothing on the video (yes, I did see it) that would even resemble on grounds for termination.

I know most of you are still in junior high or highschool, and don't really understand fully how sponsorships and how the world works in general. It's actually kind of sad that because a video game editor leaves his job, that's your first wake up call with how corporate America works.

About 17 years ago, Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)faced a similar situation with "Total Recall." Developer Acclaim threatened to pull sponsorship after an EGM reviewer said it sucked big time. EGM basically told Acclaim to f--- off and went with the review, calling it the worst game ever. Guess what? Acclaim is now defunct and EGM has successfully moved on.

So what's this about "not understanding" on how the world works? I'm 27 years old BTW.

The 6.0 score was "Fair". That wasn't an issue, but him telling people that unless you see it in the bargain bin, don't buy it - was an idiotic and unrational thing to say all together.

That is the most idioticstatement from an employee of a REVIEWER website ever. I wouldn't even buy a 6.0 game, let alone "Kane and Lynch."

I will not defend the claim that we fired him, because it never happened. Jeff walked out, and is probably on cloud nine right now with the internet commotion he has caused through this. Jeff always prided himself on being some kind of an anti-hero, and this gaming community bad boy with his "critical" scores and his harsh verbilage. "Fanboys" eat this kind of material up, but "fanboys" aren't in any position to bring hundreds of thousands of dollars into the mix.

Really? Us "fanboys" don't contribute BILLIONS of dollars into the gaming industry every year? In terms of Jeff being the "bad boy", that's the audience. Have you ever even considered that?

And for those of you who question my validity, that is fine. I came onto this forum to try and answer questions, and also give words of truth to you concerning this issue. Don't hold your breath waiting for an official press release, because as long as I have a say so in the matter - it won't happen.

Have it your way, but your reputation has been tarnished already. If it's true that Jeff walked out, then it's a lot worse because 1) he's not coming back and 2) you had A LOT to do with it. I'm sure a lot of your paid subscribers are cancelling their payments because they don't want to contribute to a gaming site that kowtows to mediocre publishers.

It doesn't have an ethernet port, but you can buy a LAN adapter for $30. It's much better than wireless one.

No not really. You get ease of use with no cords with almost no hampering connection.

I've tried using the Nintendo WiFi Adapter, but it was just buggy. Even with its hampering connection, its much better to get the LAN adapter because you won't get any "interference" issues. It's direct and to-the-point.

What's really sad is that he has worked for this organization for over 10 years now. To see him just go even if people did like Kane & Lynch is just really sad.

This 8.8 business is getting old. Yeah, it may seem like a low score for a Zelda game, but the scale was based on the old version model of Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Value, and Tilt ratings that added up to the score of such. Had he used the current, latest one, he would've given it at least a 9.0

I'm not sure if Jeff really did get fired. So far his Staff Emblem remains. But if it is true based on what I hear, especially his Kane & Lynch review, man I don't know what to say other than I don't want to get banned from this website. From what I've heard the game was just bad, or at least disappointing. Anyone other outside reviewer would tell you this.It would be Gamespot's greatest shame if they did fire Jeff because of that.

If there's a new Assassin's Creed story for the Wii, it could work. PS3/360-to-Wii port is a terrible idea.

That's interesting. But did you say $269.99? Is that legal? I thought the price was $249.99.
