Who is participating or has already participated?
Are you going to any of the big events, or are you doing anything else interesting to celebrate?

If you don't know of Earth Hour yet, look up the video.

Oops, I forgot the rest of my comment! So excuse this double-post.
In any event, the health care bill was not reconciled in the Senate. In other words, when the bill was passed to the Senate, it was altered from the version the House finished up and voted on. This means - since the Senate and House couldn't agree - the bill must go BACK to the House to be voted on again. Then it will be passed back to the president to resign, then back to the Senate to attempt to be reconciled once more. Who knows how long that'll take... hopefully not very long.

Once the bill actually gets passed, the effects will vary. Certain aspects of the bill will go into effect the moment that it's signed. But other aspects will take much longer to implement, over the next four years. That part is a long process. But as soon as the bill gets passed, I'm sure the news will calm down on all the ridiculousness, so that's a good point.

[QUOTE="Genetic_Code"]

[QUOTE="Zerkrender"]Can we go back to talking about Obama worshiping Islam or Fox News training people to take over the country please? :PZerkrender

Where do you get these theories?

CNN claimed that Fox News told their viewers the Tea-party people to do what they do and all Tea-party people are trying to get republicans back in total control. I just exaggerated it to make it sound more exciting. Fox News interview bunch of crazy people who said that Obama was a Muslim and would allow more terrorist attacks to happen.

Are you trying to insinuate the tea-party folk AREN'T crazy?
I mean... really... just look at this.

I think most of the rest of the world prefers Obama.jimmyjammer69

The only people who don't seem to like Obama are those that drown themselves in the blabber that's being dribbled out of any television speaker tuned into FOX News.

I may eat these words later (you know after Obama is actually done being president) but right now Obama has done a better job than Bush and his administration.

Serraph105

Said it more clearly than I ever could. It certainly isn't hard to do a better job than Bush. What a lazy, half-ass administration that was.

I forget some details now and the, mostly because I read such a high volume of books in short periods of time (yay for being an English major?). But I definitely don't forget major plot points, and most of the events of the story stay with me for ages. And besides, there's no harm in re-reading! I take pleasure in doing so, in fact; it's good to return to a familiar story that I know for a fact I have enjoyed, and will probably love again.

Smart Water

akuma_od3

Depends on what country you are getting your tap water!

In Cape Town, we get our tap water from the mountains, so its uber good quality. Pretty much on par with bottled water. A bit of Lemon with water is awesome.

African mountain water... That just sounds beautiful. Please begin exporting. I must taste the beautifulness.

To you vegetarians: What made you decide to be vegetarian? Were you raised that way, or did you just decide to go that route later on? xhellcatx

It's more for the animals, in my case. I was definitely not raised vegetarian; I've been on the diet for two years, and haven't had a bite of meat since. I really don't like killing, and don't see any point in killing animals if I can get my protein, nutrients, and sustanence from other sources. I make no lies: meat is DELICIOUS. But the odds are against meat: the way meat is made is absolutely foul, cruel, and atrocious; it's not a very healthy food choice, and despite the tonnes of protein it offers, tends to clog arteries, make people sick or overweight, and tends to be a dietary burder; and it's just kinda nasty, and bloody, and bleh. It's really not that hard to become vegetarian, though it takes some getting used to, as far as how to structure your meals (most modern meals are based around a meat as the main course). But I, myself, am a horribly unhealthy eater. I eat loads of protein, mostly from cheese on the countless pizzas and quesadillas I gorge on. Beyond that, tasty salads, neat smoothies, and sweet baked goods fill my life.

One recommendation, even if you don't want to be vegetarian: I sincerely recommend eating barbequed seitan (aka: wheat gluten). If you make that stuff right... MMMMM, YUM! Tastes just like meat too, in taste and texture. Gorgeous... I need to go to Sprial Diner now. Wah!
