first day of school

i needed to get this off my chest real quick. i just dropped my girls off for their first day of school. my baby did not sleep at all last night(and neither did i). i was nervous for her, but made sure she didn't know. they were with their dad last night so i called to tell them i'd be there to take them in the morning and make sure everything was in order. my oldest can be very standoffish so i was surprised that she was stressed that her father may be the only one taking them to the first day. they both wanted to wear their church clothes and look like "diva stars". my baby started 2nd grade and during the 5 minute drive she must have told me her stomach hurt a million times. my oldest tried to sit in the back acting all calm and cool-she kept wringing her hands though! i dropped the baby off first-we had to unload all her new supplies and my oldest did not want to wait so her father took her to her class room. i helped katy get all her things out and she kept finding reasons for me not to leave(which was surprising because she grew so much socially last year). i finally kissed her goodbye(which she wiped off) and told her i would pick her up this afternoon. she asked me "in an hour?" i told her "later ", waved, and went to my older child's room. sarah started 5th grade this year, got in all agp classes, and thinks she is 20. i waved from the door and then remembered that she might not know the number for carpool, so i went in----oh big mistake! she looked horrified! i told her the number and to have a good day. she rolled her eyes----so it begins!

busy day

tomorrow is going to be very busy day for me. i will not be online until late tomorrow night or maybe even friday am. it's the first day of school for my girls and i will spend most of the day at my college getting my books, paying fees, hasseling with the financial aid office, etc. if anyone needs me for any reason just send me a pm and i will get back to you asap. thanks

gundam union

i was asked to be a charter memeber of a new union-the gundam rpg union. within a week or so the leader that started the union felt things weren't going the way he wanted and stepped down and handed the union to me. i was honored and horrified at the same time. i don't know a whole lot about running a union, but am finding my way around. i'm finding it difficult to get members involved and am getting discouraged, but i don't give up. i'm thinking about rearrainging some of the officers due to their lack of involvement, but don't want to step on any toes. i've sent out some messages and i guess i'll wait and see what type of response it get before moving forward. i'd love to have anyone with gundam knowledge join and help me out!

Gamefly

i know everyone has seen the ads for gamefly on almost every page they check out about a game. well, i decided to give it a shot. i figured why not try the free rental period and if it stinks, i'll just cancel. they really ticked me off at first. they sent out my first 2 games the day i signed up which was cool. we(me and my kids) played the games and sent them back in plenty of time to cancel the 10 day free period BUT, it took almost 7 days for them to say they recieved the games, and yes, i was forced to pay for the first month. talk about robbery! i decided to make the most of it and rent more games in the hopes that things would start looking better. it took 12 days from the time i sent the games back until i received my next 2, so i'm thinking this is really not going to be worth my money. BUT THEN......i got an email stating that gamefly was going to try something new and the day the post office scans the game in gamefly would send the next game on my list "Q" out. in the email was fine print that stated not all post offices used this technology so not everyone would be included(i figured this would probably be me), but i said what the heck, worth a try! i was on the verge of cancelling my membership because of the turn around time, and everyone i talked to who tried gamefly cancelled for the same reason. some of my friends at EB told me it sucked(but i figured it was because they were used to me being up there every other week trading games). OK MY POINT-- i shipped my game this monday and got an email wednesday saying that the next game was in the mail and should me here by the weekend!! a very ,very big improvement!! just wanted to share this information with everyone. i know some have already tried it and cancelled because of the reasons above and some have wondered if it was worth a try. i will have to say YES now. i have 50 games on my "Q" list (the max you can have at one time) and since i get bored with games pretty easy and my kids play a game for a day and decide it sucks, this will be well worth my money. it's better than buying a game for $20 ,finishing it in 2 days , and going to sell it back for $3! i sell on ebay and half.com too, but sometimes i don't feel like waiting for the listing to end and hassle with shipping the game out so i can get the money for new games. i also hate having to pay $50 for a new game--now i can rent it the day it comes out, keep it as long as i need to with no late charges, have a great selection to chose from and even keep some of the games if i really like them without going to the store or payng any shipping charges. Just wanted to share!

rant

ok-i need to rant. why is it that some of the younger gamers on this site seem to do empty posts and journal entries just to get their level up. i joined this site to get gaming tips, new updates, and meet other gamers. isn't that what this is about? not a level!!

rpgs

i got hooked on rpgs back in the day when i rented final fantasy VII. of course i ended up having late charges and then went and bought the game anyway. i think i like rpgs because there is more room for personalization of gaming time. i also get bored with games fast and have never been bored with rpgs. i hate games that only take a few days to beat and never have to worry about that when playing rpgs. i love the games for the newer systems, but also go back to my old ps games for a good trip down memory lane, and to remember why i started playing in the first place!
