[QUOTE="rjdofu"] They are lazy, so what? What are you gonna do? It's fixed, and you can play the game as how it should be played, and it's a damn awesome game. Everything is done, and people still cry & whine. The amount of self entitlement here is disgusting. rjdofu
You have no idea what "self entitlement" or even "entitlement" is, never use the word again.
It means a person thinks he deserves something/benefit based on their standard without concerning other people welfare, isn't it? If not, enlighten me then, I'm not an English speaker.Demanding any PC port to be 1080p @ 60 fps is, IMO, entitlement. Keep whining even after getting the best version of the game is, IMO, entitlement.
From Software terrible @ making PC port is nothing new (Ninja Blade ring a bell?). They even warn about it before hand, so you don't have to buy it if it's fail to meet your expectation. When it's a sh!tty port, it's still a good game, it functions alright, that's the end of the deal. It's fixed within hour after release. Now you have an excellent quality game. But no, lets keep trashing the dev on how terrible they're and how their product doesn't meet one standard despite being warned before hand.
I, on the other hand, just glad that the game's fixed. How about getting the mod & enjoy the game?
When you pay for a game you have every right in the world to expect it to adhere to the set standard of the system, it is not entitlement for you to expect it to. It does not matter which system. Wii, 360, PS3, PC, GB, PSP all have their own standards and features that should be supported by a game released on the platform. A game released on Wii should utilise the motion controls, if it does not you have the right to criticise and ask why its not. A person buying a game on PS3 can or even should expect sixaxis functionality. Do you remember the outcry when the first PS3 pads did not have rumble? That was because Sony took away a feature that was part of the system. If a movie is released on Blu-ray but looks like a dvd, the customer who bought it has every right to scream bloody murder because the product he bought is not up to the standard set by the format.
The standard controller for PC is the keyboard and mouse. That means the game should have kb/m controls that are atleast servicable. Its understandable that a game that was made with a gamepad in mind will work better with a pad, but that does not mean kb/m can be half assed. I have played fighting games that worked with kb/m just fine, was it better than with a pad? Ofcourse not, but PCs are about choice. The current kb/m controls in Dark Souls are simply nonsensical. There are a thousand better ways to set them up, not only that but the menus were not changed at all to make it work better with kb/m.
Another set standard for PC games is a multitude of options when it comes to graphics. Its been that way for years. If someones PC is weaker than standard then he should be able to turn down some options. If someone has a rig he should be able to max the thing.
Mods do not exist to allow devs to half ass their job. Its great that there is the resolution fix, but what it shows is that it was not that hard to make the game just a bit better. Its not entitlement to expect a developer, who you are paying, to do the job well. FromSoftwore ported the game to make money. If they were not expecting to make money, no petition would get them to port the thing. Having no experiance with PC ports is no excuse. Both Demon Souls and Dark Souls had pretty small budgets and huge sales. They have money. FromSoftware is not a one man indie dev team. Theyre published by Namco Bandai.
Finally to end my little rant...people need to stop acting as if developers were children that need protection. If you feel some sort of motherly instinct kicking in then find yourself someone and have kids. A game development studio is a buisness, it is not a child.
