@liima: To be fair, Wizards is also giving preview cards to a ton of streamers, podcasters, and other content creators. Even the commons and uncommons are being previewed instead of unceremoniously dumped all at once at the end of spoiler season, and the people revealing the preview cards are often writing up interesting articles about the cards and the implications for Limited, Standard, and other formats.
Your main point stands though, this definitely read like a slightly reworded press release.
Comics do exist outside of Marvel and DC. Chew, one of the funniest and best series ever is concluding this week, but you wouldn't know that if you can't explore beyond superhero books.
@mylesblasonato: The big draw for me is the fact that I still have one of the old, old 360s. My first one red-ringed and was refurbished. It red-ringed again, and Microsoft replaced it with another one from the same hardware generation. That means that the 360 on my entertainment center is a ticking time bomb, and every time I turn it on to play a game, I worry that it will be for the last time. So any game that I no longer have to turn that system on in order to play is huge. Not having to play over the roar of the jet engine that is the 360's cooling fans will be pretty nice too.
The jerk in me is desperately hoping they introduce classic mode exclusively as part of a paid expansion pack, just so I can watch the Internet collectively lose its mind.
Exactly. The more I think about this, the more it seems like a cynical (though brilliant) move on EA's part. They get to rake in the gamer goodwill now, knowing Sony and Microsoft will be doing this for them at the console level. They lose nothing and gain a fair amount in return.
This is outrageous! You mean once this game is functioning properly, and I can play what it supposed to be a really good game (and has been when I've been able to play) ALL they are going to do for me is give me another game for free? Do they not realize what they've done to me? The only way this will be made right is if they come to my house and take care of my cat and dog for a week, rotate the tires on my car (I've been meaning to get that done) shovel my driveway when it snows, do the rest of my homework for me this semester, and take out the trash. THEN and only then, will I call this fiasco even.
I'm perfectly fine with the other consoles getting this game ... not sure how it's going to work as the demo made pretty good / interesting use of the gamepad. What irritates me is having to wait another 7 months for a finished game so they can do a simultaneous launch. I don't really see how launching the Wii U version on time would affect the other console versions.
