@sippio: Microsoft WANTED Crackdown to be amazing... Sumo Digital was the development studio behind Crackdown.. they're the ones that messed it up. Like I said.. if anything Microsoft needed to be firmer with these studios.. and they should have with Crackdown too.

This guys post though said.. name one game.. that's one game or studio.. that has always produced excellent games.. Microsoft themselves doesn't ruin games. It's the studios like I said. Doesn't matter if it's flagship game or not. The post was.. name one studio. It's up to the studios to make the games great.. and for the companies that own them like Microsoft or Sony to shepard them and ensure the games are as great as they can be. What Microsoft has to do is get better at that part.. there's no denying that.. but Microsoft themselves don't ruin studios. That's very naive to say.

This is a positive for Microsoft and I feel for gaming in general. Hopefully it'll lead to revivals of old, awesome games like Hexen. It brings Microsoft on par with Sony, and will honestly allow for better competition. History has shown that Sony and Microsoft are both at their best when there's healthy competition.. Microsoft being confident is good. Sony having to put in the work is a good thing too.

@GalvatronType_R: That's easy... Forza Horizon 5. Go ahead.. try and argue that. It's comfortably sitting at a 92 on metacritic. The problem isn't Microsoft.. it's the studios themselves. Microsoft doesn't make games worse.. the developers do. Turn 10 and Playground Games have been with Microsoft for a very long time and have consistently put out excellent racing games. If anything.. Microsoft needs to be a little more strict instead of just letting these studios do what they want. If they were, perhaps there wouldn't have been so many ship dates slipped.

@nargg: sure. but if they DO make it exclusive.. you can bet everyone that likes Playstation is going to be saying all kinds of mean things about Microsoft.. .. but Sony does it all the time. It's why Sony shouldn't be saying much of anything. If they bought Activision/Blizzard.. you KNOW they would make call of duty exclusive. that's a no brainer.

this is funny. microsoft, as noted, already said they don't intend to make it exclusive. but assume that's a lie... is it really any different then sony making spider-man exclusive to playstation when it first came out? no. Microsoft didn't worry about that. How about Spider-man in Marvel's Avengers? Fans hated that, but Microsoft said nothing. Personally I think Microsoft should make it exclusive. They DO have that right. It'd be no different. Call of Duty is bigger sure... but still the same thing. Sony should just quit crying.

Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo... they all buy studios. What this shows is how serious Microsoft is this generation, not desperate. They're making a ton of money this generation. This only sets them up to make more. This is about business.. plain and simple. All these companies are about making money.. this is just one way to make more. That's Microsoft's first priority. Many people think that MIcrosoft still tries to compete with Sony.. they don't. They want to push Game Pass. You can bet the majority of these games are going there day one. That's Microsoft's strategy now and it's working so well.. Sony will be coming out with a competitor. Microsoft is in the lead with this. It's no longer about console sales... it's about how many games you can sell. That's always been where the real profit is.. and why Sony is following in Microsoft's footsteps here. I have no doubt that Microsoft will buy another studio in the future.. so it can offer all those games on game pass. It's what it's all about.

I went into this really, really hopeful. There are glimpses of greatness. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. There are huge shifts from one scene immediately to another.. like when in the Matrix and Neo finally started displaying his ability.. they just had him wake up in his room? No discussion at all about this.. or a "whoa" moment at all? Maybe the director felt it wasn't needed but it was.. and that's just the beginning. There also was no exploration of him recovering his abilities.. he just kinda had them more and more through the movie.. I'll stop.. just a couple of examples of problems. I could go on and on. I'm fine with 2 hours plus if they do it right.. this movie just wasn't done right. I imagine the script was amazing.

The only thing not right here is that Spencer is answering these questions. I really think he should take a harder stance on this. Both Sony and Nintendo offer exclusivity, after they have bought studios left and right. It's the normal practice. it's not a secret they will be using Elder Scrolls and Doom to drive people to Xbox. It's what they bought Bethesda for. Anyone thinking it would be opposite is kidding themselves. If you don't want an Xbox but want to buy Elder Scrolls, Doom, or any Bethesda game.. just pick up Game Pass Ultimate and play it on PC. Microsoft still makes money either way so they don't care where you play. For the record that's also why they don't care about exclusivity and why Sony is porting more and more games to PC. There's money to be made, and that's the bottom line.

@jenovaschilld: what's wrong is that these gaming sites have been droning on about the same thing over and over. when then for you is enough enough? I feel I'm right in my opinion. Microsoft has already corrected course, and great games are scheduled. Everybody knows Microsoft has lagged behind. It's common knowledge at this point. Microsoft has already admitted this over and over. Move on.
