Okie dokey, I fixed Terminator so it adds a moderation record. The Banned By: will no longer be "N/A"

@robotopbuddy: I'm confused. http://www.gamespot.com/profile/MonsieurX was banned by olddadgamer, not Terminator at least not the last time. Do we still need an un-nuke?

posted in a SPAM thread. I un-nuked

Hello,

One very important thing to know when posting your YouTube video here, especially when your GameSpot account is brand new is this:

Don't just post a link to your video. Add some text describing it. Just posting a single link is in the top 10 list of what a SPAM post looks like and a SPAM post gets people banned.

@Byshop: They're renamed because the user name is identifying information. We're not trying to hide anything, just remove identifying information.

So you've cleared their username while leaving all the optional identifying information visible on the renamed profile like their real name, DOB, location, sex, etc.

Can you show me an example of that? I've look through every user that deleted their accounts today and none have any personal information saved whatsoever.

@Byshop: I read the thread. We're purposely not deleting content. Doing so opens up a major can of worms. We're only required to remove identifying information and that's what we're doing. Users can delete their content before deleting the account if they wish.

The part about ban dodging through account deletion is an issue. We'll need to figure something out there and it would probably be a good idea to not have a link to the dead account or a visible profile page.

@digitaldame is gathering these kinds of issues and getting them in our dev queue. I'm sure she'll update that once she read the above...

That's the expected behavior. The notification says, deleting an account WILL NOT delete its content. That topic isn't in the topics list, you as a staff or mod can still get to it with the URL even it its been purged.

@Byshop: OK, we're going to look into this stuff. I've asked for help and someone will be taking this and turning it into dev queue tickets. I wish I could help you more directly but my list of to-dos right now is long and I gotta focus. We will address these issues very soon though.
