Maybe it's because whenever Brits are on screen in the states all the Yanks ever see is posh well spoken people like Emily from Friends (and I HATE Ross's god awful english accent in that) or 1940's style Dick Van Dyke-like cockernee. Daphne in Frasier had the worst manc accent ever... until Anthony Lapaglia tried to play here brother... as cockney? WTH? We need more northern's on US TV and films... correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't anne Hatherway been cast as Selina Kyle... no mention of Catwoman... Let's not forget Lando Calrissian was once Harvey Dent. of course it'll be stupid to not have her as Catwoman too... especially if this is truly Christopher Nolan's last Batman.
