[QUOTE="resident_jisen"]to your first point all games are linear even the old re games and the same goes for scripted to. there is only one way to play any game and in the case of the old re games as well.i`ve played re 1 to death and no matter how i play it i take the same path to always beat the game.sweetSWA99ER

Ok. You do release that RE1 at least allowed you to figure out your own path through the game, right? It was a linear game in terms of story progression, but it allowed you to explore the environment on your own; deciding what enemies you want to kill, and which addititional environment you'd get to first (depending on which key items you found). Even though you took the same path that you did before, that's you CHOOSING to do so. And no, you must've not have played many games. Xcom, Dark Souls, Dishonored, Metal Gear Solid, and even Halo lead the player down a linear story, but they let them at least choose how they want to play the game(some way more than others). RE6, as a game, is so scripted, cutscene-heavy, and quick-time event riddled, that it's insulting.

as for re1 again all the keys in the game are in the same locations as are the weapons, ammo and files. they never change so the game is very linear and scripted like all the re game.So you never had a choice if only appears like you do since your walking around the mansion exploring.but the path you follow to complete the game is the sane over and over.hey i beat re1 about 9 times.and i`m smart enough to see this. after the second play through of re 1. As for the cut scenes and quick time in re 6 it`s insulting but a great fresh change to the way games are play today. i hope when they make re7 they make it very similar in many ways.

[QUOTE="ereius69"]Posted this in another thread in summary it depends who you are and what you want. If you are an old fan of the series then NO don't get it. If you like action games and don't care about the the way this game will break your heart at seeing what direction the franchise has taken then YES its worth a buy although wait for a bit its not worth the money yet. I think the score is fine, this game does not deserve more than a 4.5 and I praise gamespot for having the balls to say it. Now before you jump on me please please just listen. If this game was called "The virus" or any other name I would agree that it would deserve an easy 7/10 however I am so saddened by what the franchise has become that I totally, abhor this game no part of me can like it or appreciate it once it carries the "Resident Evil" tag, the reason as I said above is not because it is a bad game... but because Resident Evil was once The Phantom of the Opera of Survival horror ........ and now here is resident evil 6 ..... a Jason statman movie I do not know whether any of you played the classics specifically the RES1 & RES2, but if you did this game would break your heart. This is not Resident Evil...... this a action packed game with a superficial entertainment value.... Yes I found "The Expendables 2" Entertaining, I loved all the action but a week after I watched it I forgot most of it and I would not really like to watch it again.... ah but V for Vendetta, Lord of the Rings, Equilibrium, the Matrix now those for me are classics forever etched in my heart and mind........ Do remember the tension of opening a door during RES 1 or 2?....... The lack of Amo, the raristy of the Red herbs? the simple Pistol.... the helplessness and horror throughout the game... The beautiful feeling of finding a Typewriter....... ahhhh I could spend a good 20 minutes in a "safe-house" (where typewriters are no mobs there) listening to that relaxing music before gathering enough courage to go back out and open the next door... How can you possibly have experienced what I did in playing RES1 and RES 2 and like this game?! Its not plausible please make me understand because I really do not get it. And for F&^% sake zombies with Guns???? I am sorry but this game is closer to devil may cry than to any resident evil I played.... yes simple minds will like it: Its linear packed with action and has that co-op mode...... Bah The good old times we used to play RES1 in a dark room and piss ourselfs now you have Co-op lol and reanimation when you die a marker telling you where to go ... Survival Horror is dead killed by the Z Virus and from its ashes an abomination is born ..... Resident Evil 6

All i can say to you if you don`t get why some of us like this game well you don`t know what resident evil is about. and i`m not going to waste my time trying to explain it to you since you have a simple mind your self.i`ve played all of the re games code veronica being my first re game than 1 than 3 than 2 then 4 then 5 and then 6 in that order.so i know this series and love it to death.if you don`t get it why people just love the series no matter how much it changes you will never get it.So to sum this up. there some of us re fans just love the series plain and simple.

Rating a game low becuase it doesn`t live upto how re is supposer to be is morally wrong and should never be counted as a true review of the game cause it makes the person biased and judgmental. reviews need to be fair and look at the game benefits and flaws on it own merits no the merits of a series or franchise that is.Based on play of the game it is easy 9 out 10. other than some minor tech issues like the camera and the like the game is near perfect.

I`ve come to the understanding that gamers today have forgotten the true essence of gaming.and have turned themselves into nothing more than critics and bashers. Truth is years ago people played games to have fun and to be entertained and also to immerse themselves within the game.take year ago someone would read the book the hobbit and imagined themselves with them the world and enjoyed the story.but today that same book would be torn a part and criticized and bashed.i believe people today have lost there way and have forgotten the true essence of why they game or even watch movies and read books.we have become a world full of hate and complaints. to see the truth in front of our selves. i`m posting this to see what others think as well .

i`ve been playing over 100+ hours and i still love playing this game.i don`t see why people are making this game look so bad for.even gamespots review i feel is unjust to it.and the reason gave for such a low score i don`t see them at all.like some people are saying it not perfect it better than some or most of the game i played this year.

I wouldn`t take that review of 4.5 to seriously.if you read the review and see why he gave that number you maybe find he gave the 4.5 unjustly.or you may agree with him.personally me after reading the review and playing the game i don`t agree with his review i might see his point in some areas but that it.this game is good and solid.one thing her complained about was QTE`s well i don`t see what he`s seeing and i found they didn`t ruin the experience for me.i feel when he played the game he was especting the game to play a certain way and it didn`t. so he got angry and pisssed off enough to give it a poor review.if you want my advice just rent the game first to see what you think of it.and not judge the game on reviews of others.
