Yup, I am taking a ps2 for its good collection of titles. Just one thing, what was the last NHL game released for it and how was it controll wise? I played NHL 2007 on my pc and it was really easy for me to play that game (I am not a fan of football, and i play FIFA games very bad).

I am going to buy my first console as it is now very affordable. But how long will PS2 live and its game be in production (sales)?

It is possible that your harddrive may have developed serious problems. Change it and see whether it works.
