Miyazaki is simply genius, he keeps adding new mechanics to games that feel like new game genres in and of themselves and I am glad he and his team are getting the recognition they deserve. They nailed the combat in Sekiro, it was the perfect progression from parries in the Souls games but much improved and just the feeling of pulling it off is purely satisfying.

Games reviews are indeed a very subjective thing where a reviewer can choose to focus on only the good or only the bad and give the game a score based on that and this game certainly seems to have both good and bad aspects to it, but gameplay is kind of a big thing when it comes to games more than story and presentation, and its not something that seems to get much attention on this site.

And if it's not obvious, the reason I mentioned this is because after reading the review there is very little on gameplay mechanics and its almost all about story and characters. I know there's no gunplay at all until about 25 hours in but I'd like to hear about the gameplay mechanics and controls that make it stand out.

Seriously, review sounds good, not at all reflected by the score. It kind of feels like the reviewer was forced to play this game , the game sounds great and you'll see many games with worse descriptions with better scores. Gears was one the most polished TPS games so more of it should not be a negative.

I have enough confidence in miyazaki, he could pull it off.

Review sounds kind of harsh considering the core gameplay is admittedly fun, which is in the end the most important thing. I don't think the devs meant it to be a non-stop flying experience, thus the limited flight time, which is a better design choice imo. Still, the game could have used about a year more in development and they probably wanted to, but the EA boss forced their hand.

This game looks so good I'm tempted to get a 3DS... so tempting.

Not sure if this game will succeed without the original studio that created the first, but we shall see..

Loved the setting of the game, areas looked huge and interesting, I liked the exploring, the enemies design, practically everything except the gameplay. The gambit system felt like I wasn't playing the game, I was simply taking players somewhere and letting the AI do the work. It's too bad really, because it's one of my favorite video game worlds in general but the gameplay was just not there for me, it felt boring to play.
