I'm a little surprised the poll is favoring sonnen, I thought anderson was the fravorite with most people. This is a very compelling matchup, and I'll be intersted to see if it gets more ppv buys then a brock lesnar card (I think it deserves to personally).

[QUOTE="BMD004"][QUOTE="BranKetra"]

I think Anderson Silva is the best pound for pound fighter in the UFC.

HAZE-Unit

I agree. Although I thought Sonnen was going to beat Silva at UFC 117, I'm not sure what will happen in this next fight. Silva has now seen everything Sonnen has. There will be no surprises. It will be much tougher for Sonnen to beat Silva this time. It's really a toss-up for me at this point.

plus Sonnen took drugs the night of the fight thats why he was THAT strong, add to that Silva's leg injury.

Now Silva is gonna kick his ass again but harder.

Sonnen was taking doctor prescribed testosterone, and will very much be on the same medication the night of this fight too

[QUOTE="SauceKing"][QUOTE="qead"][QUOTE="SauceKing"] carwin doesnt have takedown defense, because all carwin knows is ground game... his takedown defense is to goto the ground. Overeem is a well rounded fighter, and due to his incredible steroid abuse, hes as enormous as lesnar, the only difference being overeem knows how to fight. Lesnar only knows how to lay his fat body on people that weight far less than him.

What are you talking about? Carwin was an all american wrestler, of course he's going to have great takedown defense. I know Overeem is well rounded, but he hasn't faced a wrestler of brock's caliber yet, who knows if he has the skill to repeatedly stuff that kind of takedown. Also, overeem has never tested positive for steroids, who are you to be making such claims? for all we know maybe it was all the horsemeat :P

good point he was probably only fighting in regions that dont drug test, while he became an enormous mound of muscles and refused US drug tests.... because.... well i cant fill in the because. Hes likely a freakish steroid abuser.... maybe because of horse meat? :P

Haha, very true. I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt until we get proof, but I'll admit it does look pretty sketchy. As long as he doesn't get busted I'll be happy to watch him fight for the UFC
