I've actually been hearing people who have this problem. Glad I didn't get the short end of the stick.
On the demo: It's nice that they're trying something different. And I like where they want to take the game. It feels fresh and new (strange from EA). Grinding is harder than it should, but it has nothing to do with the way it's done. It;s the camera. The "on the ground" ****really makes it hard to line up tricks because your skater is right in your field of view. Lining up grinds is really hard because you can't see where the rail is. Doing tricks in the blue pool is really hard because the camera is real wonky, trying to stay behind the skater. I would like a traditional Tony Hawks camera view.
Also, the controls aren't as refined as I would like. Truth be told, I would rather be playing this on PS3 controller. Doing flip tricks are a little harder because the 360's analog sticks are incredbiley stiff. I'd imagine the Sixaxis's analog sticks would make it easier since they're a little looser.
