I have been reading GameSpot for about ten years now, and though I love the site, I wanted to bring a concern to light. Now my discussion here is limited to Xbox 360 games and DS games, as those are the two systems I currently own and read about most often. It seems that more and more often we are seeing reviews posted for games late, or not at all. This happens most commonly with Xbox Live Arcade games (it may happen with platforms as well, but like I said I do not read about other systems as frequently).

Now I know that a good amount of games are released each week, and that thoroughly playing and reviewing them may take a little more time or manpower, but posting a review a week (or later) after a game is released is just remiss on GameSpot's part (just look at the backlog of unreviewed Xbox Live Arcade games). Not posting a review at all for a game is just unacceptable. Plenty of console games go as much as a week without being reviewed, which is intolerable. We are still waiting on reviews for big titles such as the new Brothers in Arms, Lego Batman and Pure just to name a few. Doesn't this bother anyone else?

Gamers make decisions based on playing games for themselves, as well as researching current information about them. Failing to post a review about a game within a day or two of release makes the notion of a website review system irrelevant, as gamers might as well go buy a magazine because they will get their information in the same delayed fashion from this medium. Many other sites are very good about keeping up with their reviews, but the quality of their site does not compare. If they don't have the work force to keep up, then they need to hire more people. Allowing this to happen will chase readers away and will cause a vicious cycle where they will have to have an even smaller staff with dwindling subscriptions, and so on. Please GameSpot, don't let your readers down! Keep up to date with releases and continue making this site as good as it always has been!

Their reviews are timely, but are often full of spelling and semantic errors. I read them anyway since they get them out on time though.
