What I don't understand is why Dark Souls II isn't also coming to ps4/xbox1?

If the architecture is similar enough to PC, then I really don't see why it would be a fairly simple port from PC...

Maybe they are waiting to release an 'ultimate/enhanced/definitive/ edition' at the end of the year after sales slow a bit?

That seems to be the trend these days...

looks like it could be a much more linear mass effect clone. 3rd person sci fi shooter? and yet it seems to be much more action oriented than mass effect. I think it will stand on its own, but movie tie-in games are usually not very good in my experience. I'm not getting too excited for this yet just becuase I don't want to be disappointed. But I really could use a great star trek game. Haven't played one that I really loved since Elite Force 2 way back when.

Nintendo Wii was one generation behind in terms of power. But we know that the Wii is capable of producing graphics that were somewhat better than Xbox, Ps2, and gamecube. It was referred to often as a gamecube 1.5 in terms of power. I will reiterate. The Wii is considered one generation behind. But, it is more powerful than all of the consoles of the previous generation, even if it is only slightly. That being said, the Wii U will be on par, if not slightly more powerful (at least) than the current gen. Nintendo would be, quite frankly, the dumbest company in the world if they were to come out with a next gen console that is not even capable of producing the same power as the current gen of consoles. It will be at least just as powerful, and like I said, I'll put my money on it being equivalent to an Xbox 360 v 1.5, as opposed to equivalent to the next generation xbox/ps, but also as opposed to being weaker than the 360/ps3. To me, that sounds obsurd, and I refuse to believe Nintendo would sh*t all over their fans and gamers, by releasing a console that is not even current gen, AGAIN! So, two consoles (wii and wii u) coming out 6 years apart, neither of which are on par with 360/ps3? Yeah, right. That makes sense.

this is not a report, this is a rumor. the constant internet connection may end up being true - but i say dismiss it for now, just as the blocking used games stuff. has anyone else noticed that ps4/xbox 3 rumors continue to mirror one each other? case in point - in this article the idea of the next xbox using blu-ray. Sony owns the blu-ray disc, for microsoft to use the blu-ray disc it would have to pay sony a certain 'cut' of the profits on every disc sold. Given that Sony is microsofts competition, it doesn't make sense that this will ever happen. What I do potentially see happening is more of mish-mosh of disc readers in the next xbox. Just like PC's can read CD, DVD, and Blu-Ray, I think the next xbox may include a cd/dvd/blu-ray reader to be able to play blu-ray movies, given that microsoft won't worry about paying fees on each disc sold if it isn't a game. it will also take away the leg up that sony has right now of being a blu-ray movie player as well. However, amidst all this, I wouldn't be surprised if then that Microsoft came out with some proprietary disc for games that is possibly comprable in size to the blu-ray (50g total) given that already some of the larger games on the market have to spread to more than one DVD due to lack of space. Even Nintendo did it with the Wii U by creating that proprietary 25g disc. DVDs simply won't cut it in size next gen.

this is good news. just in time for 'black friday' sales and christmas, of course. I probably won't be able to afford one right away unless by some strange phenomenon, Nintendo decides to take a hefty loss on each console sold and can sell it within the $250-$300 range. Then I might be able to make due and grab one for myself for christmas. Two things though. 1 - I hope Nintendo provides enough consoles to see them into every home that wants one, unlike the lack of enough Wii's in the US for what was it, like, a year or two that you couldn't find one in stock anywhere? 2 - I need an incredible launch line up to entice me to buy at launch, otherwise for me it's a waiting game until games I want come out. If it launched with any or all of the following, I'd save up for one and buy it day one, for the first time for any console in my life: a 3d Mario (not "New Super Mario Bros" series, but the "Super Mario ...." games), Metroid, F-Zero, Zelda, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, etc. Basically all the first party big Nintendo titles. It's been a minute since we've seen a Super Mario console game, Galaxy 2 being the last. A new console and new controls are the perfect opportunity to make a brand new one, and I suspect they will launch with one. What else would drive a new Nintendo toy into the home better than a new Super Mario?

either way, be it timesplitters 4 or crysis 3 i hope its coming to Wii U in addition to the PC and other consoles. Why? Simply because I want Nintendo to do well. And although I own all 3 consoles I don't have a gaming PC and I do plan on getting a Wii U. Therefore when I am hearing about new games lately I hope they come on the Wii U because they will likely be more akin to the high-end gaming rig PC versions in terms of audio-visual quality, steady frame rates, etc than the 360/ps3 versions. :)
