red_shock I'm a graphics programmer, and quite sadly I see dx10 being too over-hyped. John Carmack, the creator of DOOM III, Quake 4 (you should know him) mentioned that DirectX 10 isn't even worth considering. These graphics do offer a few benefits but I still don't see the point especially with shaders already in Direct3D 9. But whatever. More money for Gates ;0) ...........................................................................................................Yeah m8, chances are you havent seen DX10 first hand even if you are a graphics programmer that doesnt mean nothing, as you dont seem to know much. Dx10 is a new archetecture altogether to even compare it with dx9 would be absolutley nonsense at this time. When DX10 games are up and running in about 12 months time half of them wont even be able to be played with dx9 or xp for that matter...so how can it be over hyped ? As for Bill Gates cashing in on it, well yes of course hes gonna make money from it, but you dont see nvidia complaining do you!!!!!!
As gamespot said..."The games tested are dx9". When crysis, moh:a, ut3 amongst many others are comin out on dx10 thats when vista will shine with the games :)
As previousley mentioned....Gamespot screwed up big time with the benchmarks as quad sli makes use of a lot higher resolutions than what any ati card can do, which was never mentioned...... And with the quad sli set up at such a high resolution there is absolutley no need for anti aliasing. ATI cards are far more unreliable when running games......with fps drops and spikes and system hangs and even some reports that every now and then they bring up BSOD. In my shop the set up of quad sli 7900gtx is far better looking and smoother than the X1900XT crossfire setup when running Oblivion and quake 4 !
Omfg they could have at least waited till nvidia had released the appropiate drivers for the gx2 setup.......imho i could afford any of the cards that have been mentioned in this test but my money will always be on the nvidia cards.........

Tell me plz...what can ATI possily throw at a Nvidia quad sli rig.......nothing. Nvidia have always been the forefront over ATI and the new DX10 GPU's will be the same story, yep the nvidia cards cost more but imo you get what you pay for.......... BTW neither the xbox 360 nor the PS3 have anything to do with DX10.......DX10 is the next generation after PS3 and the pc equivelant of an xbox 360 is 2 geforce6800 in sli......a bit of a far cry from the 7900gtx sli im running now.....and yes oblivion on my pc wipes the floor with the 360 version, i should know i have them both :)

I wonder what would win between a high end nividia machine with quad sli or the best ATI can do................my money would be on the nvidia machine by far :D
